David Lawrence: Alright. So don*t put yourself down like that for God sake. Paddy you are on Online Tonight with David Lawrence hello.
Paddy: Hello.
David Lawrence: Hi.
Paddy: First I want to say thank you for taking a stand against music piracy. Coming from a music educator I just really appreciate everything that.
David Lawrence: You can imagine how absolutely you know orgasmic I was on Monday when the Grokster decision came down. I got all kinds of Email and instant messages from people. I got a text message from our developer going you win. Grokster has been decided you win. And I thought wow this is great. I mean finally somebody got it right but I appreciate that and thank you very much.
Paddy: I have a question for you. I have a Mac G3 Laptop that*s 4 years old and I am feeling limited by the CD ROM. I don*t have any way to burn CDs.
David Lawrence: Right.
Paddy: I use iPhoto a lot.
David Lawrence: Right.
Paddy: And want to be able to easily backup and make sure I am protecting all of those files.
David Lawrence: So are you actually calling so that I can give you a permission slip to buy a new PowerBook?
Paddy: Well that*s what I was wondering. I heard you talk about Sony Blu-ray to someone earlier and I wanted to know what*s available for my machine aftermarket or?
David Lawrence: Nothing right now, nothing right now. But and in fact that would be a reason that I would say hey wait not that Blu-ray is going to be available internal for any you know any short length of time. The first ones to come out will be external drives and they will be you know for the larger machines. Not that you won*t be able hook up via FireWire. But the fact of the matter is that they won*t be internal to anything anytime soon. I would, if you are using iPhoto and not iDVD I wouldn*t be so concerned about Blu-ray unless you are using big huge photo files that you are you know like putting on magazines or something.
Paddy: No.
David Lawrence: You know I would just get a burner in your machine. I mean you know is this the WallStreet or Pismo or which one is this? Is it the one with the bronze buttons on it?
Paddy: No.
David Lawrence: Okay. So that*s an old machine. I mean it*s time, it*s time for you to you know live a little you know grab a steak and some potatoes and go get yourself a new machine. If that*s a problem, if it*s an issue right now with time or money or whatever getting an external drive might be best bet. It is importable obviously unless you get you know one of the VX deals from LaCie or but the Sony is just terrific. And if that*s all you are looking for is to burn CDs that*s not a very expensive upgrade at all and you can put that external to your machine.

After a 30 year career on radio in markets from New York to San Francisco to satellite and network, David H. Lawrence XVII decided to make a change. He hung up his headphones and retired from hosting 3 network/satellite radio shows to head to Los Angeles, to concentrate solely on acting in front of the camera.
Lili VonSchtupp* needed a fresh start. She moved to Washington DC and got her dream job. "I did affiliate relations for Online Tonight with David Lawrence. I slowly worked my way into the producer's chair by impressing David with my assets. (not those assets), my ability to make a CAT5 cable Ethernet cable, type (those of you in the chat room-shut up!) and work a phone system.
