David Lawrence: I am great.
Peter: Hey I have got a QuickBook system I am trying to use and my PowerBook doesn't really communicate well with it. The emulation system is the only way to work with this or how is it going to come down?
David Lawrence: Yeah PC anywhere?
Peter: Yeah--
David Lawrence: Are you talking about--?
Peter: Yeah we have this type you know web NetAware if you might call it.
David Lawrence: Are you talking about Virtual PC or you are trying to run this on a PowerBook and what version of QuickBooks? Are your running Mac version or Windows version?
Peter: I have a Windows version of it.
David Lawrence: Okay. I am surprised you are able to run it at all.
Peter: No I am trying to emulate. I am trying to actually run it on, I have it on a PC now.
David Lawrence: So.
Peter: I am trying to run it either through web or put it on to the PowerBook and its not happening of course.
David Lawrence: Yeah I don't think you can. I mean you either have to have a Windows Emulation Software Package like Virtual PC or run it on a PC. I mean and I am not so sure that QuickBooks will let you run it from another machine or run it natively on your machine. Its one of those goofy pieces of software that is so concerned about security and what not. You know I am not sure that it's even possible to do. Is it just because you don't want to use Best Books or MYOB which are much better packages than QuickBooks?
Peter: Well the QuickBooks is what was recommended for the business that I am trying to run with it.
David Lawrence: Well I would disagree. Who recommended this?
Peter: It was sort of an industry issue that they used throughout.
David Lawrence: Well sure they recommended it because they are all talking about PCs. You have a Mac. I would run either Best Books or I would run MYOB and leave them in the dust. Have you ever tried MYOB?
Peter: No actually I haven't tried that.
David Lawrence: Okay so the reason they want to do QuickBooks is they want to do Double Entry Accounting right?

After a 30 year career on radio in markets from New York to San Francisco to satellite and network, David H. Lawrence XVII decided to make a change. He hung up his headphones and retired from hosting 3 network/satellite radio shows to head to Los Angeles, to concentrate solely on acting in front of the camera.
Lili VonSchtupp* needed a fresh start. She moved to Washington DC and got her dream job. "I did affiliate relations for Online Tonight with David Lawrence. I slowly worked my way into the producer's chair by impressing David with my assets. (not those assets), my ability to make a CAT5 cable Ethernet cable, type (those of you in the chat room-shut up!) and work a phone system.
