Max: And they do, they will put in a SuperDrive in your PowerBook if it*s shipped without one. So they are Apple authorized people but they do out of warranty upgrades basically and this sounds like a perfect candidate. And I have had a few things upgrade there. I am very happy.

David Lawrence: Well while you are adding you --- upgrade with DVD burner.

Max: So you want to look at the cost value to you. With the new dual layer DVDs you can do 8 gig on those things and if you have huge Photoshop files, don*t like them?

David Lawrence: Here is why, Blu-ray out in 6 months wasted money. 47 gigs on a DVD why would you want to have an interim 8 gigs?

Max: So what*s the price point going to be? 239 right now for a dual layer DVD versus remember when the Pioneers first came out they were $1200. What a Blu-ray is going to be?

David Lawrence: Blu-ray*s are aimed at 299.

Max: Oh well then I would wait absolutely.

David Lawrence: Yeah absolutely well here is what I would do. Spend whatever they cost you to get a CD burner for now and then when Blu-ray comes out then you can not only store, you can start doing regular DVD burning but you can also store a lot more stuff on an individual disk.

Dave: Okay.

David Lawrence: Are you working with large, large, large files like for you know annual reports and magazines?

Dave: About a 150-200 meg.

David Lawrence: Okay so in that case you are going only be able to put 3 or 4 on each one of these CDs to begin with anyway. So that maybe why they say it's a good idea to go to DVD because right now you can put 4 times as much or 7 or 8 times as much on a DVD that you can on a CD right now. But I would just get a CD burner for like 50 bucks whatever it costs and then wait 6 months for Blu-ray to come out. You will look brilliant among your friends.

Dave: Blu-ray.

David Lawrence: Blu-ray from Sony. We will talk more about it after the break.

Dave: Okay, okay.

David Lawrence: Back in a moment.
