Terry: And then you or somebody on your program said there was something wrong with 6 and 7. So I didn*t do it then. And I never got 8 and when I got 9 I said Geronimo what*s jumped right into it.
David Lawrence: Did you?
Terry: Yeah.
David Lawrence: The people around you go, how do you know Geronimo? You are absolutely right. I never recommended the people upgrade to 6 or 7. And I think 9.0 Optimizer is a really good version of America Online. I am a little biased. I do all the voice work for AOL*s tech support lines and I train their CSRs and pretty involved in AOL and the new products that they have. But ---.
Terry: No I was really pleased with this except now I, what was that if I could never get online, what does that version?
David Lawrence: You need to reinstall it and it's just a bad install or a bad uninstall and again because there maybe junk left on your hard drive from this attempt to install it you will need to have that all removed or use the installer to remove it. And I wouldn*t trust what the installer tells you at this point if he didn*t get installed properly. It should upgrade you from 5.0 to 9.0 no problem but you may need the help of someone who is better versed at looking at the individual pieces of that application. 16 before the hour my name is David Lawrence thanks so much for the call Terry. I appreciate it very much. Let*s go to Jeff. Jeff you are Online Tonight with David Lawrence, hello.
Jeff: Hi. I bought a refurbished computer back in March.
David Lawrence: Okay.
Jeff: And it's got Windows 98 on it and I haven*t had any problems until Friday. Now my Window Media Player when the video comes up it will freeze. And then when I try to log on to, once I get logged on to Yahoo and try to open up my mail it will also freeze.
David Lawrence: Okay so let me ask a question that will answer a number of things for me. Have you tried to reinstall from the original operating system disks?
Jeff: Well I didn*t get any disk with it.
David Lawrence: Ah that answered so many questions for me. Yeah, you have got a real big problem and that is that you are running a machine that has a pirated operating system on it.
Jeff: Yes.
David Lawrence: Okay well don*t say it so proudly because that*s a big problem.
Jeff: Yes.
David Lawrence: You need to go to the store and you need to buy Windows 98 SE or go online at eBay or some place like that and reinstall the operating system. You need to have the original disks when you buy refurbish and I am doing AirPort here in the studio. When you buy refurbished computers if you don*t get the original disks don*t buy the computer. Save your money elsewhere. Back in a moment.

After a 30 year career on radio in markets from New York to San Francisco to satellite and network, David H. Lawrence XVII decided to make a change. He hung up his headphones and retired from hosting 3 network/satellite radio shows to head to Los Angeles, to concentrate solely on acting in front of the camera.
Lili VonSchtupp* needed a fresh start. She moved to Washington DC and got her dream job. "I did affiliate relations for Online Tonight with David Lawrence. I slowly worked my way into the producer's chair by impressing David with my assets. (not those assets), my ability to make a CAT5 cable Ethernet cable, type (those of you in the chat room-shut up!) and work a phone system.
