David Lawrence: Drop the pounds and regain your health without pills special food or expensive surgery. Get my easy to read instantly downloadable guide 10 Quick Steps to losing weight right now at 10quicksteps.com. Thanks for tuning into the show I appreciate it very much. 24 minutes before the hour my name is David Lawrence and I got a piece of E-mail here from D Chandrasekhar who says, Hi David one of my friends has P1 and P2 PCs with USB1 ports Windows 95 and NT 4.0 which means Pentium 1 and Pentium 2 PCs. She wants to use USB for moving her digital photos from cameras from a camera and burn CDs for archiving. A CompUSA rep tried to sell her a USB2 PCI card without cables. Okay, we look to the computer store and cables etc. some stay compatible with USB1 some stores a guy state USB two cables were separate not compatible one with one it is all conflicting to us simpletons. Okay she wants to know the affability and working possibility of USB ports USA 1 and 2 compatibilities between jacks and ports and cables and hub ports on WIN95B and NT4. USB2 is not going to work with Windows 95 it*s just simply not going to work. There are not drivers available for it. If you are in WIN98 you know SE2 then yes but not 95. NT4 should work fine just after the right drivers. 99 times out of a 100 a USB2 port will be compatible with the USB device USB1 device. But it will run at USB1 speeds and in fact the whole system would slow down if you have any USB1 connected devices because it shares the data stream and you can have separate data streams on the bus. So, universal serial bus will carry all the data at the same time for all the devices. So, as soon as you plug in a USB1 device on a USB2 enable system everything slows down to USB1. So you got to be careful about that. Did you have something to say Ms. Von Schtupp or is your microphone just very close to some emitting device? I guess not. She is in another world in there everybody. So that*s the story with USB1 and USB2. At any rate it*s a good question to ask. Usually you don*t you have the if you are going to put something into a cage you already have some cables hanging there if not you can just get cables they are easy to do and just the fact that they tried to sell her card without cables well you just need cable. Some people have and some people don*t you just get cables its not like it was an over act so not to worry. The best thing to do is to think about upgrading that 95 machine by getting whole new machine because sooner or later P1 machines are going to be impossible to run current software. So 23 before the hour, let*s go to Philip. Philip you are Online Tonight with David Lawrence. Hello.

Philip: Hello David good to talk to you again.

David Lawrence: Thank you how can I help you sir.

Philip: Well I am having some minor mechanical problems with my CD-Rom drive.

David Lawrence: Okay.

Philip: I get the drive open I put the disc in place next to its property settled. I put the buttons to insert it we are going a smidge and come back out hide it again go back in come through the smidge come back out.

David Lawrence: Yeah got it.

Philip: As soon as take as much three or four times before it finally goes in.
