David Lawrence: Okay.
Jim: They offer, but she wasn*t actually downloading it.
David Lawrence: Okay but hold on, hold on Jim. Looking up lyrics on sites like AZlyrics and top2000lyrics and places like that. These are the kinds of sites that are filled with scripts that will ruin your machine; they are absolutely the worst places to go. Because they know, the kids like your daughter will go there. And they want the lyrics, they want the music, they want you know the wallpapers and the ringtones and whatever. And so in that process they are going to ruin your machine.
Jim: I can attest to that because several times in the past few months I have had the reformatted a couple of times because of problems like that.
David Lawrence: So let me show you how to fix that first of all you know, Win2K you can create different user accounts. And so do that, create a user account that your daughter can destroy if she wants to but it leaves all your stuff in good shape and do not give that user account admin privilege. That*s the way to get around it.
Jim: Okay.
David Lawrence: I appreciate the call. It sad it*s like oh you know they were just looking at music and you know and I understand is that you don*t want to. You don*t have time to know all the details on this. You are a parent you have a tough enough time making sure that you can you know get to PTO and PTA meetings. And then you can pick them up from school and take them to band practice and soccer on the weekends. I understand this is another set of details that you would rather put sharp sticks in your eyes that have to worry about. But please, please understand this very general blanket statement. If you are getting something for free on the Internet that you normally have to pay for in the store whether it*s software or music or current films even older films or television show or any of that stuff. If you are not paying for it I don*t mean the software, I don*t mean some service that are 100% legal site. I mean per track from a known company from a site that you know full well is being run by a company that you can call on the phone as oppose to find that they are incorporated in the Grand Cayman islands or operating of the coast of Spain. Please do not allow your kids, and talk to them about this. Talk to them about the fact that they are stealing. We do our part on the show all I am asking you to do is hear it and understand it. And if you are doing it don*t, it*s not fair to the artist, they are not getting any money for that. You thing these companies that are charging $29 a month, so you can use their software and it can fill your hard drive with ads. You think any of that money is going to the artist, no and you thing that argument that they make, the record labels have been rippened off those artist for years so what*s the difference. Oh so you want to rip them off directly. Is that the deal? You are hurting yourself. If I really wanted to punish you, I would just sit back and let you do that and when you called and then ask me questions I would simply say I am sorry I can*t help you. You have made your own bed now lie on it. Please understand, this is becoming pandemic this isn*t just a mild annoyance anymore. This is the world of using computers Windows machines in particular going to hell in a handbasket because of Spyware. And it*s all because people are greedy. It*s all because people rationalize their behavior and they share files and they download files and they do it illegally. And I am hoping that The US Supreme Court does not disappoint and recognizes why these companies are in business and shuts them down. Sure others will pop-up but at least there will be a precedent to immediately go and shut them down, it*s insane. 180039 Online is our telephone number, let*s see if we can squeeze John in here, hi John.

After a 30 year career on radio in markets from New York to San Francisco to satellite and network, David H. Lawrence XVII decided to make a change. He hung up his headphones and retired from hosting 3 network/satellite radio shows to head to Los Angeles, to concentrate solely on acting in front of the camera.
Lili VonSchtupp* needed a fresh start. She moved to Washington DC and got her dream job. "I did affiliate relations for Online Tonight with David Lawrence. I slowly worked my way into the producer's chair by impressing David with my assets. (not those assets), my ability to make a CAT5 cable Ethernet cable, type (those of you in the chat room-shut up!) and work a phone system.
