Tony: Is there another product you suggest?

David Lawrence: Now, that's really the right thing. No matter what you do, you are going to transcode it and so now you are also burning yourself a backup as well. So that's what I would do as I get a whole bunch of CD-Rs to just burn my music. Does that make sense?

Tony: Thank you yeah it does, thank you.

David Lawrence: Alright, I appreciate the call. It*s worth looking into especially when you are trying to make decision right now as to what kind of portable device to carry around. And I love the iPod so; we will talk more when we come back. And I will say the Geek Speak coming up stand by. It*s Online Tonight my name is David Lawrence back in a moment.

We take a Geek Speak term. We take a phrase that is technically oriented. And we turn it into plain English before your very eyes and ears and we will do that in just a moment.

This portion of the show is powered by GoDaddy. Yeah that's right whenever I need to pump up my web presence I use GoDaddy.com. Every single one of the domains onlinetonight.com, the davidlawrenceshow.com, netmusiccountdown.com, fantasymusicleague.com, legalmp3downloads.com all of them, all of them registered at GoDaddy.com, why? Because they are live 24x7 service can*t be beat and their prices are absolutely amazing. You can get domains right now for just $3.99, you can register yournamegoeshere.com for just $3.99 plus if you go to GoDaddy right now and when you are checking out you buy a domain or whatever you want to buy there. You can get certificate, you can get E-mail hosting or whatever. If you type David in as your promo code, you get an extra dollar off any order just type in David as your promo code as you are checking out. There you go make your name with GoDaddy.com that's GoDaddy.com.

Now we got an instant message which made me throw out and replace the Geek Speak that I had. I had white space in here but what I really want to talk about is this phrase that you are seeing all over the web, 100% legal. Now what does that mean? 100% legal as opposed to what 75% legal, 50% legal, you know 1% legal. Legal when it feels like it, what does that mean 100% legal? Instant message from MichaelAge who says hello David, I found a music download program and service called LimeWire. That one will get me started. It says it*s 100% legal and you have to pay $18 for it. What do you think or know about it? Well first of all the people that do LimeWire are exactly the same as the people who do KaZaA, who are the people who do Grokster, the people who do eDonkey, the people who do all of these amoral, ad ridden, Spyware laden computer slowing, downing, MP3 download systems. It*s what kids are using and they are using it to the determent of your computer and the Internet. You have heard the show before you know how vehemently opposed to these systems I am. Just because they say 100% legal, in fact because they say 100% legal that's a first red flag that they are not even close to being in 100% legal. I have had arguments with people who say hey the courts have held, we are not breaking any laws. You know, that case is in front of the Supreme Court right now and the Supreme Court is getting briefs on both sides from people who know full well that these systems are up and running and in place simply so they can make money of the ads that are served up when you install these systems. Sure you get the music. I believe it*s illegal.
