Greatest Hits Vol. 3
By:
List Price: $11.98
Amazon Price: $6.50

Album Description
Vol. 3 - Greatest Hits of Tim McGraw show his musical genius as a testament to the instincts and tenacity of the man from the hometown of Start, Louisiana. He grew up loving music and sports as his father was baseball great Tug McGraw. Tim played solo in regional nightspots, then headed to Nashville, where he joined the throng of young hopefuls vying for attention. His on-stage charisma helped land him a record deal, and his debut album hit the stores in April 1993. He and his band--some of whom are still with him--took to the road to hone the sound that continues to make his concerts among the industry's most exciting.

Greatest Hits, Vol. 2
By:
List Price: $9.98
Amazon Price: $5.14

Album Description
Tim McGraw Reflected: Hits Vol 2, his second collection of greatest hits. Showcasing a body of work bookended by 1994's "Not A Moment Too Soon" and 2006's "My Old Friend," it is a reminder of the consistency and depth that have made him such an icon. Several of the songs are drawn from two albums he recorded in a mountaintop retreat with his touring band, 2002's Tim McGraw & the Dancehall Doctors, and 2004's Live Like You Were Dying. Together, they sold seven million copies, and between them they produced hits like "Watch The Wind Blow By," "Red Ragtop," "She's My Kind of Rain," "Real Good Man," and the ten-week #1, "Live Like You Were Dying," all of which are included here. The project also includes "Everywhere," from the CD of the same name, and "Grown Men Don't Cry" and "The Cowboy In Me," from 2001's "Set This Circus Down."

More of a happy-go-lucky artist in his younger days, Tim McGraw here sounds as if he carries the weight of the world on his shoulders. After the comparatively lighthearted, irresistibly catchy opening single, "Last Dollar (Fly Away)," most of the midtempo material that follows ranges from the somber to the morose. There's the night-shift weariness of "I'm Workin'," the alcohol-drenched heartbreak of "Whiskey and You," and the soul-tortured title track. Even a song with the upbeat title "Put Your Lovin' on Me" has McGraw asking his lover to "be my drug" and "take this weight off me." Things turn positively lethal with "Between the River and Me," the story of revenge on an alcoholic, wife-beating stepfather. The set also features the obligatory duet of marital devotion with Faith Hill ("I Need You") and a couple of nods toward classic country ("Kristofferson" and the closing "Shotgun Rider," which could be McGraw's "Mamas, Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up to Be Cowboys"). "Nothin' to Die For" returns to the inspirational vein of "Live Like You Were Dying," but little here finds McGraw in a feel-good mode. --Don McLeese

Tim McGraw - Greatest Hits

Amazon.com essential recording
With a sad tenor that sounded like Mr. Haney from Green Acres, Tim McGraw, a freshman in country's crowded class of '92, seemed the least likely to graduate to superstardom. But eight years and 20 million albums and singles later, here he is with a greatest hits package so stuffed with songs--15 in all--that it doesn't have room for any new tunes, or even the best of all, "Everywhere." McGraw's appeal is two-fold: Aside from his unlistenable duets with wife Faith Hill and the abysmal "Indian Outlaw" that jump-started his career, he's had excellent taste in songs. And he's the epitome of the average guy in search of extraordinary love--the loser who becomes a winner. You see it all here, in the hate-it-but-love-it "Don't Take the Girl," the adrenaline rush of "Something Like That," and the infectious "I Like It, I Love It." If this album doesn't give hope to every karaoke singer in America, nothing will. --Alanna Nash

CUSTOMER REVIEW:
Amazon falsely advertised this CD
I saw this CD on Amazon and the way it was advertised it did not give the titles of the 3 CD's. In my opinion it led you to believe yes, there were 3 CD's but none were titled. When I got it in the mail I found that I already had all 3 of the CDs so I had to return it and Amazon charged me for the shipping. If I had known the NAMES of the CD's I would never have ordered. I believe that Amazon falsely advertised this one.

Tim tops this weekend
It was a lucky weekend for the country folk.  The Blake Shelton song inspired horse, Somebeachsomewhere, won his race and Tim's movie won the box office.  Of course Four Christmases got a jump start on the competition by opening on Wednesday, but no matter, it was tops this weekend and that's all I care about.  Here are the numbers. 1. "Four Christmases," $31.7 million. ? co-starring Tim McGraw 2. "Bolt," $26.6 million. 3. "Twilight," $26.4 million. 4. "Quantum of Solace," $19.5 million. 5 • Book Review ? My Little Girl
Last week, I received My Little Girl by Tim McGraw & Tom Douglas in the mail to review. The artwork was whimsical and perfectly suited to the target audience. The story was short enough to keep smaller children entertained without getting bored, but could have used a little more substance and detail. Our family is a blended family, and the daughter I shared this with (YL10) hasn?t seen her father in a year and a half, so the book was a little difficult for me to read without tearing up. I vividly recall sitting in my neighbor's front yard with about 5 other young teens and listening to Def Leppard's Pyromania. I felt so cool! I thought I was hanging out with the cool kids, and though, at the time, I wasn't crazy about Def Leppard's music, I wasn't leaving that yard unless they drug me away! My hubby had been a hug Def Leppard fan, as a teen he would cruise in the back of his cousin's VW bug listening to Def Leppard. So he brought into our marriage his Def Leppard cassettes. We are all faced with a series of great opportunities brilliantly disguised as impossible situations. -Charles R. Swindoll She was my mom. And she died sixteen years ago today. So I?m thinking about her today. Let me tell you about her, what I remember of her. Her name was Celeste. I?ve always thought her name was so beautiful. Celeste Bell has a certain elegance to it that still ricochets around my head when I speak her name. When I think it. She was about five foot six as an adult and
