Ted: No just a Windows update on my startup.
David Lawrence: So it was another update that just kicked in. And what happened, what are you trying to get rid of?
Ted: Well in the middle of all that, it put Windows Messenger.
David Lawrence: On your machine?
Ted: Yes.
David Lawrence: Well, Windows Messenger always on Windows XP*s machines. You cannot use it, it*s not the kind of thing you want to or can uninstall. I don*t think you can uninstall you may be able to but I don*t think so because it is an integral part of Microsoft*s, you know, Theories on World Domination, but.
Ted: Well I put it into my Program Files a folder called Messenger, can I delete that.
David Lawrence: Okay that*s different, again, that*s, is that, MSN Messenger?
Ted: Yes.
David Lawrence: If you are sure, that it*s MSN Messenger that it acts like AOL Instant Messenger or Yahoo Messenger, okay. I would not delete it, if you are going to delete anything, remember you always use, either the installer, the deletion tool that*s left on by the installer in that folder, or using Add/Remove Programs in your Control Panels. Never ever just delete a folder from the Program Directory, because that*s not really, they may have left files all over your hard drive other than that directory.
Ted: I see, but it*s not harming anything yeah?
David Lawrence: It*s not harming anything and you don*t have to use it, obviously you prefer to use AOL Instant Messenger, because you are on ME all the time with AOL Instant messenger. So don*t worry about it. You can run both of them safely, if you choose to use MSN Messenger you certainly can. You can run MSN Messenger, Yahoo, AOL all the same time on one machine and again as we have said on the show hundred times, do not use systems that aggregate them without the individual company*s permission. There are some companies that aggregate MSN and Yahoo, with the permission of MSN and Yahoo and then there are other companies that without the permission of AOL include AOL Instant Messenger in that mix. AOL has never authorized anyone other than Apple with their iChat to use their system outside of AOL, ICQ, AOL or AOL Instant Messenger. So just be aware of that, okay?
Ted: Okay sir.

After a 30 year career on radio in markets from New York to San Francisco to satellite and network, David H. Lawrence XVII decided to make a change. He hung up his headphones and retired from hosting 3 network/satellite radio shows to head to Los Angeles, to concentrate solely on acting in front of the camera.
Lili VonSchtupp* needed a fresh start. She moved to Washington DC and got her dream job. "I did affiliate relations for Online Tonight with David Lawrence. I slowly worked my way into the producer's chair by impressing David with my assets. (not those assets), my ability to make a CAT5 cable Ethernet cable, type (those of you in the chat room-shut up!) and work a phone system.
