David Lawrence: 26 minutes before the hour, it*s Online Tonight my name is David Lawrence thanks for tuning into the show. That*s so good to hear from him you see what you don*t know is that this is a guy who has gone through several major open heart surgeries in his young life. And this one is by far the most stabilitating and he has been recovering for months now. And we stay with him on this show all the time just do some improve and stuff during the week and really great guy and he just, he was whispering before he was so raspy he was whispering. And now he has got his voice back and he is just, ah it*s just great. 26 before the hour Eric Filipkowski www.hollywoodphony.com it*s his website. 26 before the hour let*s get back to the phones. 180039 online 18003966546 this portion of the show is brought to you by www.visitorville.com. Who thought or who knew that web blog analysis tools will have a gaming interface? 180039 online Bill you are Online Tonight with David Lawrence, hello sir.
Bill: Hi I have Windows 2000 and I would like to use MSCONFIG it was unavailable on 98 and XP I am told the version on XP will work on 2000.
David Lawrence: That*s correct.
Bill: But the only places I find to download that are places that are not www.microsoft.com and I don*t know if I trust.
David Lawrence: Right did you go to the Tech Place, there is a link on the web there is one at www.netsquirrel.com I believe I recall and one at the www.techguide.com they have a downloads page. That*s fine I have gotten at there a couple of times for people that have looked for it.
Bill: It*s not tech advice it*s www.thetechguide.com.
David Lawrence: Yeah www.thetechguide.com/downloads.html. And that*s absolutely correct. And MSCONFIG is basically you can either use that or you can use something called Startup Control Panel. You just look up Startup CPL that will work just as well. What we are talking about here is a very nifty piece of software that as you said correctly was just basically left out of both 2000 and NT because it*s a different family of computers different ways of doing it. And there is an XP version of MSCONFIG as well. And it*s been stripped out by people who know what they are doing of XP and putting it and download it. You know it*s here this is like the least minor of these kinds of hacks or tweaks. And to me is not at all against the terms of service of Microsoft*s license for XP or for 2K. And I can imagine you will have problems with it but yes that*s where to go and get it.
Bill: Okay.
David Lawrence: Alright.

After a 30 year career on radio in markets from New York to San Francisco to satellite and network, David H. Lawrence XVII decided to make a change. He hung up his headphones and retired from hosting 3 network/satellite radio shows to head to Los Angeles, to concentrate solely on acting in front of the camera.
Lili VonSchtupp* needed a fresh start. She moved to Washington DC and got her dream job. "I did affiliate relations for Online Tonight with David Lawrence. I slowly worked my way into the producer's chair by impressing David with my assets. (not those assets), my ability to make a CAT5 cable Ethernet cable, type (those of you in the chat room-shut up!) and work a phone system.
