David Lawrence: It is seven minutes past the hour my name is David Lawrence and it's always gratifying to say something on the air than go check your E-mail and have I think last time it was like 56 pieces of inbound mail, all asking for what you have just mentioned on the air or earlier last hour we talked about disabling Windows Messenger so you don*t get grey box pop-up ads. Those plain, jane, grey boxes that say your computer is about to crash or your computer has SpyWare on it or your computers* name is Greg and if you want to change that well then click here and give me 29 bucks you know those are common that*s a spammer common during your machine by having a particular active element running on the system and I got an instant message I said look send me a piece of E-mail and I will send you back an auto responder that tells you exactly how to disable Windows Messenger. Now this is not MSN Messenger it's not Yahoo Messenger or AOL Messenger but Windows Messenger on your particular flavor of Windows and I have got an instant message from Cobra2forme who used to listen to us when were on talkspot. Boy that was back in the day saying so you have teased us all tonight how do we disable Windows Messenger. Well that*s why I said send me E-mail and here is why it's different for every flavor of Windows and it's a multi step process so rather than taking the time to go through all of the variations and all of the steps on the air if you send me piece of E-mail you will get back an E-mail that gives you exactly what to do for your particular flavor of Windows. So there you go. That*s why I say send me E-mail at david@onlinetonight.com or Lawrence@aol.com either one will work. And I will send you back a response that lists exactly. Now people have asked me that how do you know what how does your system know what to send back in terms of an Auto Response. It's actually an assisted Auto Response because if you send me a piece of E-mail that says hey what*s that line of code in Windows 98 to have it represent there or recognize more than 64 megabytes you know that*s a commonly asked question on the show. How do you disable Windows Messenger, what are the three pieces of Adware and SpyWare killing software that you are recommend the only three pieces, you know you send me E-mail like that and you think well whatever they put in the subject line there has to trigger that Auto Response. Actually what I have done is I have created a number of signatures in Entourage which is the system that I use on my Macintosh for E-mail and for contacts and whatnot. And when I get a piece of E-mail I just simply hit reply and them choose the signature that has a very well crafted detailed response rather than typing it out every time. I just did it once, sort of wrote it and then put it in a signature file with my regular signature appended at the bottom. And I just choose that and that*s what I reply with. So of course it looks like I have just labored for hours over my answer to you when in fact I labored once and I am sending back the same to everybody. So it is an auto responder but it is my choosing which auto responder to send back, so that*s the deal. Alright back to the phones 180039 online 18003966546 and by the way you can get much more detailed information on have to stop all kinds of pop up ads and spam and what not by getting our 10 Quick Steps guide to do it and it will cost you 20 bucks because we really spend a lot of time making sure that these guides keep you safe, 10 Quick Steps to Stopping Spam, 10 Quick Steps to Stopping Pop Up Ads and then the other one we mentioned last hour was 10 Quick Steps to Perfect Backups. And as you heard a couple of people have had their bake and saved by what we have in those guides so you know we try to make sure that we help out listeners whenever we possibly can and these guys do a great job in doing it. There are some new guides out too that we will say about later on the show. Let*s go back to the phones. Larry you are Online Tonight with David Lawrence, hello.

After a 30 year career on radio in markets from New York to San Francisco to satellite and network, David H. Lawrence XVII decided to make a change. He hung up his headphones and retired from hosting 3 network/satellite radio shows to head to Los Angeles, to concentrate solely on acting in front of the camera.
Lili VonSchtupp* needed a fresh start. She moved to Washington DC and got her dream job. "I did affiliate relations for Online Tonight with David Lawrence. I slowly worked my way into the producer's chair by impressing David with my assets. (not those assets), my ability to make a CAT5 cable Ethernet cable, type (those of you in the chat room-shut up!) and work a phone system.
