Tony: Per your instructions I picked up Retrospect and now this for the first time I will find out if I am able to you know, I have always gone to the complete backup as you have instructed. I picked up Retrospect before your 10 Quick Steps came out. My issue is I need to figure out you know how to reload it back on. I have never run that part of Retrospect as I never had to.

David Lawrence: Right first of all (thank you so much for being my first listener tonight that actually listened to what I had to say and now is reaping the benefit) Oh that's enough. No really I mean seriously you don't know how good that makes me feel to know that you are covered and you are covered because of something that I said. That's just brilliant, now it*s very easy to get backup in running with Retrospect you will use the disk that Retrospect came with.

Tony: Sure.

David Lawrence: You will boot your machine off of that disk and you will simply slide all the data back on because whatever backup drive you have we will plug into your new machine and then you will simply replace what's on that hard drive when you get it back from Apple with the data that you have already got. Now how old is your machine?

Tony: 12 months, it was 1 year old G4 laptop.

David Lawrence: Right so they are probably going to give you a machine with Tiger on it.

Tony: Okay.

David Lawrence: Hopefully it won't be a machine that requires Tiger because then in that case, you will to do a little bit more work on getting your data back on the machine and it won't as simple as just sort of streaming it all back on. You will have to, you will have to go a little bit more effort to get the data back on, there are not that as harder to get the data on but you want to pick and choose what data you want to put back on the machine. You might want to leave the install of Tiger on that machine. Since it would be, well we will have to wait until you get your new machine if in fact that's what it comes to find out. But either way you are covered and an Apple will make it right I am sure. And if they don't give me a buzz and we will figure out what to do from there alright.
