E-mail, love these jingles. This comes from Bob Ziegler who says hi David I found a place to test the speed of my cable connection. It said the download was 4.19 megabits per second and the upload was 364.43 Kbits per second less than 11000. Why isn*t the up-speed the same as the down speed? Well you have Asymmetrical DSL and even if you had Symmetrical DSL where both was the same both the up-speed and down-speed are the same. It would be lower because what these companies don't want to do is they don't want to give a lot of upload speed to people. They don't want people running their own Web servers, they don't want people opening up shares on their hard drives and offering up movies and music and whatnot porn and everything off their hard drives. So 9 times out of 10 a small business or residential version of broadband whether it*s DSL or cable will have a much slower upload speed, upside speed than download speed. That's called Asymmetrical now there are people who will call me and argue that Asynchronized but that's not correct. It*s Asymmetrical meaning they are not the same. Symmetrical DSL or SDSL is usually reserved for business installs that are much, much more expensive and serve a much larger group of computers on a local area network that would be connected to them. And even then you are not talking about massive upload speeds which is really bad for me because you know I move large audio files around that are directly pertinent to my show or to the voice work that I do for America Online or for my other clients. And moving large files that are not mp3 files but WAV files, AIF, and so on I need the upload speed and so I have had to go to a different type of DSL, a symmetrical DSL and a higher business quality to do that because it falls on deaf ears when you go to an SBC or you know an Earthlink or an AOL who is offering DSL service. And you say hey I really could use higher uploads speed but I am not you know doing it because I want to you know get things and give things to people on KaZaA and Morpheus, Grokster because this is what I do for a living. And you know they just don't want to hear it because that's where they save their bandwidth so. So that's why you have that's normal and it is probably costing you, I would say with those they are probably costing you $39 a month. I would think alright so there we go. Let*s get back to the phones 180039 Online 18003966546 Tony.
Tony: Hey good evening.
David Lawrence: Hi good evening.
Tony: I was wondering if you could assist me. A week ago I dropped off a laptop, it died at an Apple store and for the last week Apple Care has been funny in different reports on the status and today they confirmed they lost my laptop. And I was wondering they told me to come in the week and they talked to me about replacing it what I can expect in such a situation.
David Lawrence: Well when you turned it over to them I mean I am not a lawyer.
Tony: Sure.
David Lawrence: So you know you can certainly take this for the entire value that's it worth which is less than you cost to get Starbuck coffee but in terms of Apple as a company. What I believe about Apple is that if they have done something wrong they will make it right. And if they are asking you to wait a week I am sure it*s just so they can thoroughly search their depots, their stores, their repair areas to make sure that they haven*t just simply misplaced it, then in fact it*s been stolen or lost in transit. And if that's the case well then they are going to take care of it that's why you sign that receipt and you get a copy of it when you drop it off for service at the Apple Store when you send it into Apple care. Now the question I have for you is have you been a good little boy and have you backed up your data.

After a 30 year career on radio in markets from New York to San Francisco to satellite and network, David H. Lawrence XVII decided to make a change. He hung up his headphones and retired from hosting 3 network/satellite radio shows to head to Los Angeles, to concentrate solely on acting in front of the camera.
Lili VonSchtupp* needed a fresh start. She moved to Washington DC and got her dream job. "I did affiliate relations for Online Tonight with David Lawrence. I slowly worked my way into the producer's chair by impressing David with my assets. (not those assets), my ability to make a CAT5 cable Ethernet cable, type (those of you in the chat room-shut up!) and work a phone system.
