Randy: I am sorry.
David Lawrence: All you do not know and believe me I love bringing this to the attention of people who listen to the show. It is a shame what has happened in the DVD market. Every company has decided to do their own format, they refuse because they have each walked down a particular path with their line. Apple has done it, HP has done it, Sony has done it. They each have a choice that they have made in terms of the format that they burn DVDs. CDs are universal, you burn CDs the same way in every drive known to man. If it's a data there is a bluebook, a red book, a yellow book, a green book standard that no matter what Philips and Sony when they set out the CD standard they said if you don*t use these standards you cannot say it's a CD. You cannot say it's a Compact Disc in fact when the record label started doing those protected Compact Discs, Philips said if you keep this up stop putting CD on those discs because they are not our standards. But DVD completely different story, there are no less than 6 different competing standards. And the problem is if you burn a DVD on one machine and then try to play it on another machine, chances are it won't work. Now it usually does work on the home DVD devices, they are pretty forgiving, they read all kinds of different formats and they are playback only. But on the burning things man it's just horrible. So what I would do is would go over to the gateway site and do a lookup in their knowledge base to see if they have drivers compatible with Windows Media player 10. Then that might solve your issue, but let me know call me and let me know what happens, alright.
Randy: Right thank you.
David Lawrence: I appreciate the call, back in a moment it's Online Tonight.
Hey it*s David Lawrence and Bob Parsons, who is the President Founder of GoDaddy who you have been listening to during the show. He asked me to help them get Radio GoDaddy started and to reach out to folks like you because it*s important to him and to the people that work for the company to have informed and involved customers. You can get all the details on this show at www.radiogodaddy.com but the more you know about the Internet, how it effects you, how you can succeed by being a part of it, the more likely you are to become a GoDaddy customer, that*s all there is to it. Now apart from that I can*t think of any company or chief executive more willing to step up and address contentious and often polarizing issues. It*s part of his nature. Check out www.bobparsons.com as well as the new site he has set up at www.thedangerofnoprivacy.com. I joined with Bob and GoDaddy in urging you to get involved. After a 30 year career on radio in markets from New York to San Francisco to satellite and network, David H. Lawrence XVII decided to make a change. He hung up his headphones and retired from hosting 3 network/satellite radio shows to head to Los Angeles, to concentrate solely on acting in front of the camera.
Lili VonSchtupp* needed a fresh start. She moved to Washington DC and got her dream job. "I did affiliate relations for Online Tonight with David Lawrence. I slowly worked my way into the producer's chair by impressing David with my assets. (not those assets), my ability to make a CAT5 cable Ethernet cable, type (those of you in the chat room-shut up!) and work a phone system.
