Previously: The Great RAID Level 5 >>
Next: David Lawrence's Personal Netcast - 8/6/2005 >>
Donavan: That is right, that is correct.
David Lawrence: Alright so what is going on? Is the pocket PC sucking in all the mail before it can be scanned or what?
Donavan: No when it downloads the mail it actually takes the mail as spam but it does not close the plug in and Norton Antispam plug in. So it leaves the spam in the inbox.
David Lawrence: I don*t use Outlook and I do not use pocket PC. I use the version of Outlook from Macintosh which is called Entourage. And I use Palm my Treo650 is a Palm device. So I have never encountered this but I imagine that there are others who have. And I imagine it is a simply a matter of precedence in that the pocket PC hooks directly via active sync into the Outlook database and somehow insinuates itself prior to Norton Antivirus*s spam filter getting at the E-mail. So what I would do is I would go to www.pocketpcthoughts.com if I were you this is the path I would take. I would go either to www.pocketpcthoughts.com or I go to www.davesipack.com even though it is not an iPack that you are dealing with or are you using an iPack?
Donavan: No.
David Lawrence: It doesn*t really matter. It is still pocket PC Windows Mobile issue. And I would post it to the forms there and I would say here is what is going on. I am sure that hundreds of other people in those forms have been through the same thing because it seems like a pretty typical situation. You are using Outlook, you have an exchange server. You have a pocket PC device and you want to use it. But somehow it is you know it is obviating Norton*s AntiSpam filter before it gets there. I am sure they would not, that is why I would go to get the answer to that question. Does that make sense?
Donavan: Yeah.
David Lawrence: Alright it is oh look at this and I appreciate the call. Lilly went looked up where I am speaking. It is the Portable Media Expo. And I am scheduled for Saturday November 12th at 2:00pm. My topic is creating the commercial connection, speaking to vendors, customers and consumers via Podcasting. And so there you go. Eileen: Oh thank you for your program.
David Lawrence: My pleasure.
Eileen: I have a question about the AntiSpyware Microsoft that you suggested to stop spam and so on.
David Lawrence: One of the three yes.
Eileen: Yeah one of the three, I do have Adware and I have Norton on which I pay for and I have a Firewall as well and which is free.
David Lawrence: Okay well none of those that you mentioned other than Adaware is going to stop Spyware or Adware just so you know.

After a 30 year career on radio in markets from New York to San Francisco to satellite and network, David H. Lawrence XVII decided to make a change. He hung up his headphones and retired from hosting 3 network/satellite radio shows to head to Los Angeles, to concentrate solely on acting in front of the camera.
Lili VonSchtupp* needed a fresh start. She moved to Washington DC and got her dream job. "I did affiliate relations for Online Tonight with David Lawrence. I slowly worked my way into the producer's chair by impressing David with my assets. (not those assets), my ability to make a CAT5 cable Ethernet cable, type (those of you in the chat room-shut up!) and work a phone system.
