It*s the Online Tonight personal net cast and it*s available by clicking on the Podcast link but the best way to get in touch with me is via the phone 180039 online 18003866546. Ms. Von Schtupp is answering the phones again tonight. She is back in town and before we get to the calls Google big story out today the National Arbitration Forum now this is new I didn*t know that the National Arbitration Forum is where Google went on this. Usually people go to WIPO which is the World Intellectual Property Organization. But they went to the National Arbitration Forum. Here is the story coming out of AP Michael Liedtke writing, an internet arbitrator has awarded Google the rights to several website addresses that relied on typographical errors to exploit the online search engines popularity. So the computer viruses and other malicious software could be unleashed on unsuspecting visitors. So here is the deal you mistyped Google. You typed in Ghoogle because your finger hangs over the G and hits both the G and the H at the same time you mistyped it but your browser goes there anyway and all of a sudden you get a virus downloaded right on to your machine. Gooigle again the O right next to the I and if you hit that just a little bit of skew and you get both of them at the same time its called TypoSquatting. Isn*t that weird typosquatting? The National Arbitration Forum a legal alternate to litigating in court sided with Google in their complain alleging that a man by the name of Sergey Gridasov of St. Petersburg, Russia, had engaged in typosquatting by operating websites names like www.googkle.com, www.ghoogle.com and www.gooigle.com. So you get www.google.com and then all of sudden when you mistype it you get these problems but the decision made earlier in the week by Arbitrator Paul A. Dorf gave Google these sites. It endorsed Google*s contention that misspelled addresses were part away sinister plot to infect computers with programs known as Malware. They can lead to recurring system crashes wiping out valuable data providing a Window into highly sensitive information. Now, Google filed their complaint this guy Gridasov didn*t respond. So Google won after a while was by default that they won. The associated press sent an E-mail to the E-mail address that Gridasov listed when he registered his websites so when you go the who is and you find out who is registered a particular domain name the response acknowledged that the misspelled names were adopted to attract more visitors that said there hadn*t made any complaints until the site began posting code from another company. So it wasn*t there to cause trouble yeah. So there you go. There you go that*s the deal. We have got and that*s about 15 past the hour. 180039 online 18003966546 we will take break and we will come back we have got Geek Speak just ahead.
