Garry: Yeah you know I tried you know go through on a regular basis and run some of the programs like you know the Norton and the antivirus and different things to try to help keep the computer running smoothly and I guess sometime you wind up stepping on your own toes.
David Lawrence: Well I don't know anything about the registry cleaner that you used. I refused to use anything but three things for protecting my machine against the adware in cleaning it up. And those three things are Ad-Aware SpyBot Search & Destroy and Microsoft Anti-Spyware those three and those three only.
Garry: Okay.
David Lawrence: All at the same time. What they will do is work in concert with each other as opposed to antivirus software which you only want to have one running on your machine at a time. These 3 will run in concert with each other and again the third Microsoft Antivirus is only for 2k Pro and for XP but I would be very, very careful about the claims made by software that you find on the net especially if it*s software that came to your attention through a pop-up.
Garry: Yeah.
David Lawrence: Yeah very, very suspected that at that point. In fact there was a company that was successfully brought to court by the FTC just this past week for creating software that did nothing more than popup and ad saying your machine is infected this is the product that will clean the infection. Charging people $29.95 and doing absolutely nothing, nothing. So just be very, very careful by the way I will put links to all of those up on website at www.onlinetonight.com. So that you can get those are all free by the way Ad-Aware SpyBot Search & Destroy all free Microsoft Anti-Spyware free. It says it*s in beta form at this point but that's okay it*s always going to be in beta form because it*s constantly changing. There is no final release on software like this.

David Lawrence is heard nightly as the wacky, eclectic and highly opinionated host of The David Lawrence Show, and weekend Online Tonight, network radio talk shows that revolves around pop culture and the high-tech lifestyle. The award-winning shows combine entertainment, information, interviews and news with the speed and humor of a Top-40 morning show.
Lili VonSchtupp* needed a fresh start. She moved to Washington DC and got her dream job. "I did affiliate relations for Online Tonight with David Lawrence. I slowly worked my way into the producer's chair by impressing David with my assets. (not those assets), my ability to make a CAT5 cable Ethernet cable, type (those of you in the chat room-shut up!) and work a phone system.
