Scott: She is undoubtedly receiving social security. I was thinking what about forwarding a letter to her chair of social security I mean that*s kind of crazy.
David Lawrence: I don*t think they would deliver it I think we get lost in the bureaucracy. But I would say that if the reason that you are trying to get in touch with her is medically related or is related to legal issues then you can start to use the legal system to find her. If it's simply pure curiosity well then you are kind of on your own I don*t think you can use the social security system either via the net or via just you know the social security administration offline getting in touch with her. Records are available and records are for sale as well. Remember all these identity theft cases that we have had over the last year and all of the records that have been not necessarily kept very good care of. Well all of those companies sell that information so it's out there and available for a price. The question is whether or not it's worth it to you to actually you know have that kind of ---
Scott: Is it ethical to use those services?
David Lawrence: Well is it legal is it ethical I mean this is your family, right it's not that you are trying to find somebody that*s a stranger.
Scott: I have a problem with the services that are compiling this data although I know it's legal and are still be available but and they are just handling over etc. You know David can I ask you one thing quick? I have heard in weeks past in criticism of you. I know what happens all the time idiotic, ridiculous criticism of you for crazy reasons. You have a great show, your integrity. I just want to say that lot of people up here they listen to you and we really like service you are giving us.
David Lawrence: Well that*s very kind of you I appreciate it. I think that anybody is talking about is sometimes people disagree with what I have to say or they take me to task for not giving a course of action to people that they might have given to them and I tend to explain why I do because I don*t want people to think that I am just willing and only trying to tell people to go a particular path and you know we appeal to you we appeal to all of you and not just the geeks in the world and that kind of rankles some people. Back in a moment.
David Lawrence: The Geek Speak phrase for this hour is disaster recovery. And we will get to that in just a second we hear about that all the times especially in my 10 Quick Steps book to perfect backups disaster recovery. I will find out what*s all about. After a 30 year career on radio in markets from New York to San Francisco to satellite and network, David H. Lawrence XVII decided to make a change. He hung up his headphones and retired from hosting 3 network/satellite radio shows to head to Los Angeles, to concentrate solely on acting in front of the camera.
Lili VonSchtupp* needed a fresh start. She moved to Washington DC and got her dream job. "I did affiliate relations for Online Tonight with David Lawrence. I slowly worked my way into the producer's chair by impressing David with my assets. (not those assets), my ability to make a CAT5 cable Ethernet cable, type (those of you in the chat room-shut up!) and work a phone system.
