Scott: Hi David.

David Lawrence: Hi Scott how are you?

Scott: Good.

David Lawrence: How can I help you?

Scott: This is not actually storm related but what it is my mother has lost track of her elderly sister. And I went on the Internet and tried to look at the various search engines, white pages, yellow pages just if I could find anything. Some paid services popped up a course which is are there any methods of you know of search engines etc. that are available online to search for people that are not trying to hide themselves but are just have been out of touch.

David Lawrence: Well this is sort of the gray area between using the Internet and not using any of your native intelligence and also being aware of what your mother and your sister do for hobbies, do for vocation of the areas that they live in and so on. What you can start to do you start to search for your mothers* and sisters* name in conjunction with activities that she is involved in for example, if your mother was really into knitting or if your mother was or your mother*s sister was really into you know 4H or into jellies or you know whatever the activities are I am not trying to stereotype old people as being into knitting and jellies but you know I am talking about. If there was a particular function or group of people if she was in a military. If she was in a particular part of the state, a city that you last know them from. This is exactly what private investigators they charge you money to go searching for things on the net to do. Now, you can also go to government sources, local court houses and so on they have many of their archives available for search on the net. Some of them charge minor fees for it and in the end when you start to you know sort of add up your time and how much that*s worth as well as you know these little minor fees for getting copies of things from government agencies, you start to see were the 50 or a 100 or a $150 that places like 1800 US search and things like that that they charge you begin to see why that*s a bit of a bargain. But at the same time you can certainly learn a lot about what is available to you on the Internet as an individual about other individuals when you start to search for people on the web. And you have taken great first steps you have obviously gone to Google and you have gone to the white pages and I am sure you have gone to the *

Scott: Springboard.

David Lawrence: Springboard and places like that again what I would do is I would just take a sheet of paper and lay out all the different clues about your it would be your aunt, right?

Scott: Yes.

David Lawrence: Okay.
