Mary: It*s much closer than my desktop is.
David Lawrence: And you know --
Mary: And it*s, it*s actually very close, in the next room.
David Lawrence: Okay, okay and you know that the actual antenna is engaged, that the wireless information is being received. Do you have some sort of indication with XP when you have a wireless connection, when you join the network what the strength of the network is. Do you get an indication of that?
Mary: Yes.
David Lawrence: And how strong is it.
Mary: I right click on it usually its very good or excellent.
David Lawrence: Okay so then it leads me to think that has nothing to do with the wireless connection. It has everything to do with either the way your DNS is set up, your networking is set up or that there is something running on your machine that is so bogging down the connection that it simply quits after a while. And I don*t know if you get pop-ups all the time. I don*t know if you have problems when you go online being redirected to search engines you have never heard of, any of these things?
Mary: No.
David Lawrence: Okay so --
Mary: No I have McAfee. I am on McAfee Firewall and I have a protection service.
David Lawrence: And the Firewall allows for wireless connection, yes?
Mary: Yes.
David Lawrence: How long are you on before you usually get kicked off?
Mary: It varies but generally I have a very difficulty in getting on and interestingly Comcast is my ISP. I can't get on, I can get on to MSN*s homepage.
David Lawrence: Right.
Mary: Pretty easily and actually stay on it. I tried to go from there to the Comcast --

After a 30 year career on radio in markets from New York to San Francisco to satellite and network, David H. Lawrence XVII decided to make a change. He hung up his headphones and retired from hosting 3 network/satellite radio shows to head to Los Angeles, to concentrate solely on acting in front of the camera.
Lili VonSchtupp* needed a fresh start. She moved to Washington DC and got her dream job. "I did affiliate relations for Online Tonight with David Lawrence. I slowly worked my way into the producer's chair by impressing David with my assets. (not those assets), my ability to make a CAT5 cable Ethernet cable, type (those of you in the chat room-shut up!) and work a phone system.
