Next: A new Webisodic, Montoya goes podcasting and Yoo too >>
David Lawrence: Well that*s something you should ask, where do these go? What you are doing with them? Because the batteries inside and the power supplies and the capacitors are the big deal, the big environmental problems. And so you want to be careful about where your stuff is going, but in terms of making sure your data isn*t stolen, your identity isn*t stolen, nothing is in jeopardy, your accounts or whatever, just take the hard drive out.
Angela: Okay.
David Lawrence: Don*t let the hard drive be given away with the computer, does that make sense?
Angela: Yep.
David Lawrence: Okay cool.
Angela: And I had another question, I forgot to ask.
David Lawrence: Certainly raise your hand please, hand raised okay go ahead.
Angela: I am having G4 we used it for like 3 years in the classic environment with OS 9 and every time I ever booted up because a lot of my information is still on the G4, even I am using the G5 in the classic environment, so I occasionally go and switch it back, now that my husband is running it in 10 all the time. And when it boots up there is one icon that comes up 3 times as if some loading of extension, one of the extensions comes up 3 times.
David Lawrence: Which one?
Angela: It*s one with a low rainbow shooting out of it.
David Lawrence: A little rainbow shooting out of it, is that color sink? You know I haven*t use OS 9 in so long it could be color sink, it could be the color management system in OS 9. Does it affect the way the machine is run?
Angela: It just takes as longer, it does finish booting up as it*s loading that one three times.
David Lawrence: Well you can get an old copy of any of the startup managers that, that were available, in fact there was startup manager built-in to OS 9. But if you go in and check to see what your system setup is you can see if there is something in there 3 times and you can you know disallow, you can uncheck it and it won*t load. But be careful because it maybe similar icons with different functions or 3 different items in the same family of a startup items maybe the same but different actual program.
Angela: Oh it originally only did it once but then it is doing it twice and then while later they are doing at 3 times.

After a 30 year career on radio in markets from New York to San Francisco to satellite and network, David H. Lawrence XVII decided to make a change. He hung up his headphones and retired from hosting 3 network/satellite radio shows to head to Los Angeles, to concentrate solely on acting in front of the camera.
Lili VonSchtupp* needed a fresh start. She moved to Washington DC and got her dream job. "I did affiliate relations for Online Tonight with David Lawrence. I slowly worked my way into the producer's chair by impressing David with my assets. (not those assets), my ability to make a CAT5 cable Ethernet cable, type (those of you in the chat room-shut up!) and work a phone system.
