David Lawrence: So today was a pretty cool day. I mean you know as days go we are going to talk a lot about Podcasts during this particular edition of Online Tonight. If for no other reason then I have the pleasure today of helping Wil Wheaton although I don*t know much how by actually was in the end but helping Wil Wheaton TVs Wil Wheaton film and televisions* Wil Wheaton. The guy that played Wesley Crusher on Star Trek: The Next Generation and that was in Stand By Me the movie. He is about to go and play in the World Poker Tour. Did I get that right Ms. Von Schtupp? It*s not World Series of Poker, it*s World Poker Tour, right?
Ms. Von Schtupp: Yes David.
David Lawrence: Yeah. So okay just for a second I flashed back to 1984 and Maria and her saying yes David but I digress it. So well he has headed up to Las Vegas to play in the tour there. And he wants to Podcast from it. He wants to sit at the table and while he is playing you describe what*s going on around in the color of the room in the hands there is being dealt in the way that he plays and who knows what all but it will be very interesting to listen to you. And actually listen to somebody as they sit at the table Podcast from one of these events. So to do that he needed to put together a system pretty inexpensively. And in the process I am also writing 10 Quick Steps to Podcasting and in the process his system which will end up being my sort of mini entry system to get into Podcasting. We went through a whole bunch of different options and things to purchase and what not and I took a couple of pages from Adam Curry*s play book, couple of things that I knew about and have used in broadcasting and sort of going out and getting stories to bring that to the studio for broadcasting for sometime now. And put them all together and I think we have got a pretty terrific situation. So we will be talking a lot about Podcasting.
I also went out and registered www.podcastdesign.com because as you know I have designed the Podcast for GoDaddy called Radio GoDaddy. And that was just really enjoyable experience because it used to be so. You can actually hear it here in the show it begins its life as the first hour of The David Lawrence Show on Wednesday nights at 7 Pacific 9 Central time. You can also go to www.radiogodaddy.com to get all the details. But the cool thing was working with GoDaddy and with Bob Parsons who is there Founder and CEO working with them to sort of put the whole thing together. And they are going whole hog I mean full bore not only are we did we do bumpers and production elements for them so that the Podcast sounded good but we are also putting in a full blown studio for them at their campus in Scottsdale Arizona.
Now you don*t have to spend the millions and millions and millions of dollars that they are spending to put the studio in. As a manufacture it*s all that expense if at all. You can also get away with Podcasting very inexpensively and so what we are going to do during the Bookmark This segments of the show is give you the three main elements that most people are going to need to be able to Podcast. And if you don*t know what Podcasting is feel free to call in 180039 online, if you have questions about how to get Podcasts, what they are, whether you really need an iPod to get a Podcast here is a hint no you don*t. It*s easy if you do but you don*t have to. And then you know what you need to produce a Podcast, say you want to Podcast you are a big fan of NASCAR. And that maybe while you are watching a race on television you want to talk about it as you, you know and you put together a program people listen to it the next day and there you go there is an idea for Podcast.

David Lawrence is heard nightly as the wacky, eclectic and highly opinionated host of The David Lawrence Show, and weekend Online Tonight, network radio talk shows that revolves around pop culture and the high-tech lifestyle. The award-winning shows combine entertainment, information, interviews and news with the speed and humor of a Top-40 morning show.
Lili VonSchtupp* needed a fresh start. She moved to Washington DC and got her dream job. "I did affiliate relations for Online Tonight with David Lawrence. I slowly worked my way into the producer's chair by impressing David with my assets. (not those assets), my ability to make a CAT5 cable Ethernet cable, type (those of you in the chat room-shut up!) and work a phone system.
