David Lawrence: So what happened? When did this start happening? What event occurred you know what happened right before this started going on? Did you abnormally lock down your computer?
Johnny: No I don't know what happened but I was trying to get on that after pulling the cord at the back there just to get out of something.
David Lawrence: Okay stop. Johnny why did you pull the cord out of the back?
Johnny: Because there is no way that I could get out of it.
David Lawrence: Oh sure there is, sure there is. When you hold down the power button for an extended period of time your machine, your machine shuts down.
Johnny: Yeah but that means I got to reload and that takes whatever to get back into the program if I am especially on the Internet.
David Lawrence: Well so it does the same thing if you pull the cord out of the wall.
Johnny: Yeah either way.
David Lawrence: Right, but pulling the cord out of the wall.
Johnny: No I was at the back of the computer.
David Lawrence: Either one doesn*t matter. Doesn*t matter Johnny either one you are dropping power to the computer, okay.
Johnny: Yeah
David Lawrence: So doing that sort of like everything gets, it*s like vomiting. Everything get interrupted, there is nothing graceful about it. So don't do that anymore.
Johnny: Okay.
David Lawrence: Okay I know you are impatient and I know you don't want go through all that but that's why it goes to this process so that you are not sitting there and damaging the data. You probably pulled the cord out while it was in the middle of writing something to the hard drive.
Johnny: Well there was a directory thing that I can*t see that.
David Lawrence: So how can I help you?
Johnny: What does this tell you, I was taking about I have to take it into an Apple store and have them look at it.
David Lawrence: And it also tells me you should be more patient with your Macintosh. Please don't treat as though it*s a recalcitrant child.

After a 30 year career on radio in markets from New York to San Francisco to satellite and network, David H. Lawrence XVII decided to make a change. He hung up his headphones and retired from hosting 3 network/satellite radio shows to head to Los Angeles, to concentrate solely on acting in front of the camera.
Lili VonSchtupp* needed a fresh start. She moved to Washington DC and got her dream job. "I did affiliate relations for Online Tonight with David Lawrence. I slowly worked my way into the producer's chair by impressing David with my assets. (not those assets), my ability to make a CAT5 cable Ethernet cable, type (those of you in the chat room-shut up!) and work a phone system.
