David Lawrence: Thank you for tuning into the show I appreciate it very much. Celebrating 12 years on the air tonight, isn*t that interesting you know 1993 we went on the air on February 26th. And we have been working straight through, so very, very cool. It*s having our 13th year on the air, amazing. And Ms. Von Schtupp Lili Von Schtupp has been with us for last 7 years and doing a terrific job, give her a big round of applause.

David Lawrence: Ah there you go, they love you. It*s 8 minutes past the hour thanks for joining us. My name is David Lawrence, the name of the show is Online Tonight. So we talk about computers, online services, the Internet, questions about laptops, desktops, Macintosh PC, Windows Mac OS X, questions about the Internet, Google, AOL, Yahoo, building websites, searching websites, online E-commerce and online investing and digital music and downloading music and movies. And why that*s a bad thing to do if it*s not your stuff to download and how to use portable devices, cell phones and portable mp3 players and all that. We love doing that on the show. And all you have to do is get in touch with us, just call in 180039 Online 18003966546, pop me an instant message you can do that as well, instant messages, the screen name is Lawrence on AOL or on AOL Instant Messenger or on ICQ or on iChat, if you have a Macintosh. Lawrence@aol.com you might need the whole thing for some of those. You can also pop an E-mail Lawrence@aol.com or David@onlinetonight.com either one will work and then you can go to the website and get all the notes for the show as well as the audio and eventually the transcripts after couple of days, the audios are up almost instantly. So go check it over at onlinetonight.com. And you can scroll down and see the last few blog entries. Tonight*s blog entry is Son of the Taskbar. Well we always take a current movie and bastardize the title Son of the Mask is out now, so Son of the Taskbar that*s our title for tonight.

This portion of the show is powered by godaddy.com. I use godaddy.com I cannot recommend them highly enough. Domains for only $3.99 with any other product and I can get your domain for $2.99. I will give you details in just a second here. Hosting, E-mail accounts, web traffic and marketing tools all at a fraction of what you would expect to pay that*s the deal over GoDaddy is a deal, it*s a great deal. And right now my listeners exclusively get an additional dollar off any order. So if your order is one domain for the year and its $8.99 you get it for $7.99. Just enter David as you promo code. When you are checking out there will be a little block for promo code, just stop and drop in David and it will drop your price down by a dollar. Make your name with godaddy.com. 10 minutes past the hour, my name is David Lawrence. We go to phones in just a second I get some E-mail to deal with here as well. During the course of the show I have gotten a couple of pieces of E-mail from some people driving across country and using V-texture using a little texting devices to get stuff to me. Oro@Vtext.com says why is that some websites require the *www.* in the URL and others don*t. Some even say not to use it, could you please explain? Sure Servers, physical Servers are used for several different types of software servers. The word servers is used interchangeably for the hardware that the server resides on the software that it runs. In particular FTP Servers and Web Servers, HTTP Servers, so to that end sometimes they differentiate with prefixes on the domain name on the top level domain name that you are writing to. And usually, usually the person that*s running the server will equate foo.com with www.foo.com but it is an overt equation, you have to actually go into your preferences, your settings in Apache.
