David Lawrence: It*s seven minutes past the hour thanks for tuning in the show I appreciate it very, very much. Let me give you some details on how you can participate, lines are up on right now if you want to talk about computers, online services, the Internet, your Machintosh, your PC, your PDA, your cell phone, your portable music device, iPod, Creative Labs NOMAD, anything that clicks and beeps whirs and if it burps you can talk about that too because I have got two daughters so that*s fine as well. But clicks and beeps and whirs is what I was going for. Here*s the toll free telephone number 180039 online, that*s 18003966546. Now our lines fill up fairly quickly, so if you have questions please get them early and don*t be afraid if your question is what you consider to be too easy to ask the IT guy work or your cousin who knows computers because you are afraid they will think you are stupid. Please don*t worry about stuff like that because the whole point of this show is to help people who are new, who are mid ranged, who are expert but especially the new people because with so many people joining the ranks of computer usage and blogging everyday and using websites, and building websites, and using Google and so on it*s always good to help those people who have the kinds of questions that everybody can benefit from. One of the questions that came up today during a meeting that I had was how do you form your search phrases for Google? How is that you can find something on Google so much faster than I do and I will talk about that little bit this hour. I want to talk about constructing a Google search phrase in your head before you start typing it on the screen. Although Google is designed to pretty much allow you to search based on you typing in a question you know what is the capital of Ecuador? That will work just fine, but for example if somebody rang the studio today with an area code that I wasn*t familiar with and so I just simply typed in the three digit number and then followed it with area code. And boom there was the first link was a link to whitepages.com and a map of the area code area, new area code for Houston, which is where it happened to be from all that sort of things. But we will talk about that a little bit later on the show. Let me give you these details first. 180039 online that*s our telephone number, also you can instant message me and I love, love, love getting instant messages from people as long as they are short and sweet. You know like I am talking like a sentence, not a big long couple of paragraphs because it scrolls down and I can*t reply back. If you have got a long explanation then call in, but if you have got something very, very quick like what do you think of Firefox? I can use that I can say it on the air I can say I love Firefox it*s a great alternative to Internet Explorer. You should it*s free so why not give it a shot I can talk about that it*s much less susceptible to viruses and scripting than Internet Explorer is.

David Lawrence is heard nightly as the wacky, eclectic and highly opinionated host of The David Lawrence Show, and weekend Online Tonight, network radio talk shows that revolves around pop culture and the high-tech lifestyle. The award-winning shows combine entertainment, information, interviews and news with the speed and humor of a Top-40 morning show.
Lili VonSchtupp* needed a fresh start. She moved to Washington DC and got her dream job. "I did affiliate relations for Online Tonight with David Lawrence. I slowly worked my way into the producer's chair by impressing David with my assets. (not those assets), my ability to make a CAT5 cable Ethernet cable, type (those of you in the chat room-shut up!) and work a phone system.
