Previously: Red Eye Pod >>
Next: David Lawrence's Personal Netcast - 8/20/2005 >>
John: Okay.
David Lawrence: The feeds are www.feeds.feedburner.com/pn and www.feeds.feedburner.com/nmc for the two different Podcasts that I produce. Back in a moment.
David Lawrence: Alright the Geek Speak phrase for this hour is PDF. And we will tell you what PDF stands for in just a moment. We have a new PDF over at www.10quicksteps.com and people already are going what is that? What does PDF mean? What do you mean when you say that? This portion of the show is powered by www.godaddy.com. If you need to register one domain or transfer a thousand right now domains are just $3.99 when you buy any other product at www.godaddy.com. They are my choice for domain names. Right now my listeners exclusively can save 10% on their order. Just enter SAVETEN as your promo code, SAVETEN. Now if you buy domains ten years in advance and you buy some secured certificates, maybe a Radio GoDaddy T-shirt because we do that Radio GoDaddy Podcast, you can get up there and save you 10% on that. Make your name with www.godaddy.com, that*s www.godaddy.com.
Alright now what is a PDF? PDF stands for Portable Document Format. Now this is a file format that Adobe created that lets you create documents where the display and the printing of those documents are exactly the way you want because the fonts and the layout are embedded in the document. It*s not relying on whether or not the person that you send the document to has those same fonts, has the same type of printer. It*s all done with Adobe*s PostScript Software. So everything looks the same no matter what. Governments use PDF for tax forms, for the California DMV, the Illinois Motor Vehicle Bureau they all use PDF to deliver the forms to you. Our books over at www.10quicksteps.com and in fact all eBooks are PDF files unless they are Word documents and that*s kind of goofy. But PDF files Portable Document Format is what that stands for. And Adobe has a free reader. Mac OS X has a preview built in that actually reads Adobe as well, Adobe PDF files as well. PDF no matter what happens however you set it out in PDF that*s how the viewer is going to see it. Portable Document Format that is this hour*s Geek Speak.
And it is brought to you by the Fantasy Music League and Fantasy Music League Referral Program. We are in the midst of the summer, summer 2005, that*s what year it is, yes, summer 2005. I don*t even know what year it is. Summer 2005 season and if you are a registered FML player you can actually make money referring your friends and family to play the game. If you are not playing it go check out the details on how you can play and if you are playing go check out the details on the Referral Program. Go to www.fantasymusicleague.com that*s www.fantasymusicleague.com.

After a 30 year career on radio in markets from New York to San Francisco to satellite and network, David H. Lawrence XVII decided to make a change. He hung up his headphones and retired from hosting 3 network/satellite radio shows to head to Los Angeles, to concentrate solely on acting in front of the camera.
Lili VonSchtupp* needed a fresh start. She moved to Washington DC and got her dream job. "I did affiliate relations for Online Tonight with David Lawrence. I slowly worked my way into the producer's chair by impressing David with my assets. (not those assets), my ability to make a CAT5 cable Ethernet cable, type (those of you in the chat room-shut up!) and work a phone system.
