Kenneth: I have a Laptop that I reformatted for hard drive. I used to have ME on there. The sound works just fine. I installed Windows 2000 on it and I lost my sound. I thought it was just the drivers problem that come to find out in the device manager this thing to show a sound card.

David Lawrence: Well sound is usually on board on the Laptop unless you have a separate sound card on the Laptop do you know that for sure.

Keith: No I don*t think sir, I don*t think I do. It*s probably what you see it is on board.

David Lawrence: So in that case there may not be a driver that*s compatible with Win2k Pro. You might want to check with the manufacture what kind of the Laptop is it.

Keith: 1 gig bit solo and 2150.

David Lawrence: And what is gateway and what is gateway say.

Keith: Well I haven*t talked with them. It is a legacy-

David Lawrence: Okay stop for just a second I think it is very interesting that you called me before you called gateway. But call them is that don*t know they will go oh yeah it is solo yeah we get this driver go here on the website and if they don*t then call me.

Keith: Okay.

David Lawrence: I appreciate it though I am flattered I just you know try the gateway first I know it sucks to call tech support I know it does. But often they actually have the answer.
