David Lawrence: It may mean that your computer is infected with the virus that is trying to get out the BIOS. When did that start happening? Did you have an odd shut down or did you just install or uninstall something?

Gordon: Well usually I start up from a stand by and I don*t get this kind of like this safe mode start up.

David Lawrence: Right because what you are getting you are not actually shutting down either you are just going into stand by mode which is basically hibernation or sleep. So you are not actually powering your computer down completely or telling the computer okay we are done here, let*s just power down everything and then later on we will start up from scratch. What you are doing is sort of book marking where you are? And then starting up right from there so you are not actually even going through what*s called the power on self test or the post process. So that*s why you don*t get that but you do get that if you start up and I am trying to sort of isolate what may have happened just prior to you first starting to notice this.

Gordon: Well it*s so seldom I even pay attention to it so I don*t know how long this is been doing, I just was looking at it one time.

David Lawrence: What kind of Antivirus software do you have on your machine?

Gordon: I let*s see I don*t have any Antivirus software at all.

David Lawrence: Okay I would definitely.

Gordon: I just use the Panda Challenge about once a week.

David Lawrence: Oh okay well alright so that doesn*t protect you from getting viruses that just checks to see if you have one. So I would you know I would fork up the cash and get some Antivirus software. Does Panda challenge not erase this or does it tell you what*s going on with that?

Gordon: Panda Challenge has never found any viruses.
