John: Well I used to have high speed but now I am trying to use dialup. And when I try to use dialup it doesn*t, I have tried this like everyday for a week and *
David Lawrence: So are you saying it*s never worked on dialup?
John: It has like a year ago.
David Lawrence: Right but not now. Well it very well might be that you know they have changed the settings on whatever point of presence you dial into with AOL, wherever you are. You sound you are in a large warehouse, that*s been empty for decades. So I don*t know if you just don*t have a lot of furniture in the room that you are in. But it sounds very *
John: No it*s just the basement.
David Lawrence: Oh it*s just the basement, okay great. So I don*t know you know it*s been a year you might try calling AOL*s tech support line. And asking them if there is another phone number you can try. But when you are getting the error that says user-id or password is invalid, that means that your account has had that information changed. And you might want to check with them and see if people have been logging on to your account. Because if that*s the case then your account has been compromised and somebody is using it other than you. They may have changed your user name, well your password, not your screen name but your password. So are you entering these things manually by the way?
John: What do you mean?
David Lawrence: Like you are typing them in manually they are not *
John: No I just click I go to my Control Panel and I go to network connection and I click the dialog box and click dial and it starts dialing.
David Lawrence: Okay that*s not how you should be logging on to America Online. You should be logging on to America Online through the AOL interface. So you might want to launch AOL and set up, your screen name and password so that it does the dialing for you.
John: Oh okay.
David Lawrence: And that way, yeah I didn*t know that*s how you were trying to go on. That*s how you get on if, I mean even when you have dial, when you have DSL or cable you still use the AOL service to get though, but in general your connection is done for you with network connections. But that*s not how you do dialup with AOL. You use the AOL client and the AOL client will actually do the dialing for you. I am sorry, oh he is gone. So that*s what you want to do. 180039 online 18003966546 we got to Sydney, hey Sydney.

After a 30 year career on radio in markets from New York to San Francisco to satellite and network, David H. Lawrence XVII decided to make a change. He hung up his headphones and retired from hosting 3 network/satellite radio shows to head to Los Angeles, to concentrate solely on acting in front of the camera.
Lili VonSchtupp* needed a fresh start. She moved to Washington DC and got her dream job. "I did affiliate relations for Online Tonight with David Lawrence. I slowly worked my way into the producer's chair by impressing David with my assets. (not those assets), my ability to make a CAT5 cable Ethernet cable, type (those of you in the chat room-shut up!) and work a phone system.
