David Lawrence: You know how quickly technology advances and I am sure you are aware of the schedule by which most dead-tree magazines published though the articles that come out in say February were written and edited back in October or November.
Kevin: Absolutely.
David Lawrence: And so at the CES show where we were just about one month ago today, the concept of breaking encryption and even taking a piece of tape and getting someone*s thumbprint as you see on CSI all the time or on mystery shows or in films all the time, they will the get the person who has the thumbprint they need, to pick up a glass of water right.
Kevin: Right.
David Lawrence: And the moment they get them to pick up the glass of water, well then they have got there thumbprint on that glass of water and they take a piece of regular Scotch tape or one of those evidence gathering kits and they take the tape they take the thumbprint off and they lay it down and they use that to get into the vault and steal all the money or whatever the situation is. They actually address that, it's a Logitech demonstration on this, they address the ability to mimic both the hurdles of the thumbprint as well as being able to use technology to completely bypass the thumbprint reader. And get right to the area that takes the thumbprint and reverts it back into what is considered the many points of demarcation in the software. And what you are looking at as of CES and as of the new devices that came out at CES is an entire new generation of readers that are as good or better as the readers that*s secure our government buildings. With retina scams and with thumbprints and both of the Microsoft keyboards that is on the stores now and the Logitech keyboards in the store is now, are advanced beyond the ones that were tested in any articles that dealt with that, so as time goes on the technology gets better more secure etc. No technology is completely secure, it's important for you and everybody to know that and that*s a good point to bring up. But the ones that are available right now as we speak the new one from Microsoft with the thumbprint reader built-in and the new one from Logitech that they demoed at CES was available that week in retails stores has not yet been hacked and has much better software and hardware associated with it as the prices come down on the hardware pieces and as the software gets developed as they see how people can get pass them and so on I would be much more concerned in having what is a much more typical way of getting passwords. Do you work at the industry at all?
Kevin: Oh absolutely.

After a 30 year career on radio in markets from New York to San Francisco to satellite and network, David H. Lawrence XVII decided to make a change. He hung up his headphones and retired from hosting 3 network/satellite radio shows to head to Los Angeles, to concentrate solely on acting in front of the camera.
Lili VonSchtupp* needed a fresh start. She moved to Washington DC and got her dream job. "I did affiliate relations for Online Tonight with David Lawrence. I slowly worked my way into the producer's chair by impressing David with my assets. (not those assets), my ability to make a CAT5 cable Ethernet cable, type (those of you in the chat room-shut up!) and work a phone system.
