What is a Hotspot, we are just _______15.23 with you, you won*t have to worry about it. A hotspot is an area of a graphic or page where you make something happen by rolling over or clicking on that area. Now the rest of the page doesn*t do that, the rest of the graphic may not do that but the hotspot does, so as an example if your company has offices in New York, Chicago, DC and San Francisco but not in any other city, you could create a web page that has a graphic on it of a map of the United States with New York, Illinois, DC and California darkened and the rest white or some other color. You can set your web page to react like clicking on it would send them to a page about their particular office. Only when visitors mouse over those four states but not the other four states. Bringing up information about those offices when you click on the hotspot that*s what that means. Now there is second definition of hotspot the second definition of hotspot is about Wi-Fi, it's all about wireless. A hotspot is an area where 802.11 signals are available for you to get on the Internet or to communicate over the net via Wi-Fi. Starbucks is considered a hotspot because they have the T-Mobile Hotspots in most of them. The library maybe a hotspot, the park in your area maybe a hotspot, often government buildings and transportation hubs are hotspots. These people are waiting to get on trains and buses and so on and if they are sitting there gaming away on the Internet. A hotspot is any area where you can get on the net either for pay for free and use wireless Wi-Fi access through the net that*s a hotspot as well. So there you go that*s this hours Geek Speak Hotspot.
