David Lawrence: Yeah they are that*s the place that Tim Berners-Lee who is the guy that created the web way back in late 80s or early 90s actually works that now its out of MIT and it is the standard that is the place where the standards are kept for HTML now you go there they have tutorials there and they have references there for everything from HTML to CSS which you should learn as well Cascading Style Sheets and all of the side skills like learning web safe colors and learning security functions and a little bit of java script and things like that and then from there, there are literally if you google learn HTML online. If you google that have free courses that you can take a page at a time on all the different tags in HTML what they do? How the structure in HTML document which by the way for those of you who don*t know is the building block the language that builds web pages add once to build web pages as oppose to having a tool do it for and he wants to know you know what*s going on in the background with all the code and that*s a great thing to know because that*s going to be a skill. How old are you?

Ed: I am 14.

David Lawrence: Yeah that*s going to be a skill that if you can learn well will be as valuable in 5 years as it is today in the market place. So no matter what you choose to do for living to know HTML would be an additional skill that an employer would look at and say hey well this is great because you know maybe we can have him do some web stuff for us. And you can say yeah maybe you can pay me a little bit more too. How about that?

Ed: Yeah.

David Lawrence: So that*s what I would do I would look online and I would google learn HTML and besides they come up first are the ones that are the most popular they don*t cost anything. The tutorials are very precise and they are constantly updated as HTML changes version. Its now at version 4 and what I would suggest you do is not only learn HTML but learn XML learn how to do RSS Feeds, learn the side skills because those are the things that will really separate you from the other people that are out there. I mean you can you know you can learn a lot by learning HTML but then go on and learn the side skills. Learn the things that let you do pod casting and RSS Feeds and blogging and all that sort of thing. 180039 online is our telephone number 18003966546, Jim you are online tonight with David Lawrence hello.

Jim: Yes I have got a Windows 98 and when I go to shut down it won*t shut down completely.

David Lawrence: It just hangs there at the Windows 98 is shutting down.

Jim: Yes.
