Next: David Lawrence's Personal Netcast - 10/8/2005 >>
David Lawrence: There you go. So this is a case to me and this is just a surmisal because you know Windows Me 98 SE, 98 etc. 95 for sure long gone of the radar of support for Microsoft and Microsoft*s developers. Now some developers they are hell bent to make sure that every version of Windows users can use their stuff usually educational software because often the kids gets the cast of machine from the parents. And so they go back you know Reader Rabbit and things like that will actually play.
Eric: Oregon-Trail.
David Lawrence: Thank you yes Oregon-Trail we will play on those older machines but especially pieces of software that have been involved in security issues in the past. They tend to say okay if we are because AOL instant messenger has been attacked over and over and over again because its such a pervasive piece of software. It*s been attacked over and over and over again to try and find all the holes that spammers can exploit to give you popup ads in the guise of instant messages. I am sure you have gotten a few of those and they do so at the peril of those who use older versions of the operating system including Windows Me and going back to 95. So it maybe that your AOL instant messenger is too smart for your computers breaches does that make sense to you?
Eric: Yes.
David Lawrence: You have gotten it the current advanced version but it is not entirely compatible with Windows Me.
Eric: Do you think the answer is to upgrade.
David Lawrence: I believe the answer is to upgrade and if you need me to provide you with a permission slip a signed permission slip that you can then take to your parents and say look here David Lawrence on the radio said you should buy a new machine or upgrade this machine. And usually you have to check to make sure that the now Pentium IV is fine for Windows XP but you will need even more RAM you know the minimum you want to have to operate XP specially on a Pentium IV is 512 Megs. So if you have maxed out that machine it*s not an upgrade its time to replace it alright.
Eric: Well I will guess I will go out my way and download that.
David Lawrence: Hey.
Eric: I am kidding.
David Lawrence: I am so thrilled that your voice is back man I can't wait to see you I thank you for calling.

After a 30 year career on radio in markets from New York to San Francisco to satellite and network, David H. Lawrence XVII decided to make a change. He hung up his headphones and retired from hosting 3 network/satellite radio shows to head to Los Angeles, to concentrate solely on acting in front of the camera.
Lili VonSchtupp* needed a fresh start. She moved to Washington DC and got her dream job. "I did affiliate relations for Online Tonight with David Lawrence. I slowly worked my way into the producer's chair by impressing David with my assets. (not those assets), my ability to make a CAT5 cable Ethernet cable, type (those of you in the chat room-shut up!) and work a phone system.
