EW: Ah yeah I clicked there and then it asked me to logon to put in my member name and my password.

David Lawrence: And did you do that?

EW: No, that*s when I stopped.

David Lawrence: Good.

EW: And I said gee you know I wonder about this and I went looking for my credit card, didn*t have it and then you know I dragged my mouse across all the little things that*s like you know home and other places and you can always see those 1.19.16________ where they got and none of them worked.

David Lawrence: Okay.

EW: So I thought oh.

David Lawrence: Let me just talk about this. It may very well be a legitimate E-mail from Paypa*. See this things look just like the real thing. So that*s the thing it could be a legitimate E-mail from Paypal saying hey we think your other credit card is expiring and you need to update your payment and this is the credit card that*s expiring. The fact that they put the last four digits in the E-mail it lends itself to saying maybe this is real but still here*s an easy defense here. When you get an E-mail like this it*s because the website had generated it so you know that if you simply ignore that E-mail take the knowledge that e-Bay may want you for something and just go to your browser and type in www.ebay.com.

EW: Right. Well, that*s what I decided to do.

David Lawrence: When you actually login it will do the same thing that a legitimate E-mail message would have done and that is to advice you that a credit card is expired or you need to update something or whatever, but you are absolutely, that is exactly why these things are so dangerous and it*s great that you stopped because you certainly got that bad feeling and that*s perfect.

EW: It sure looked real. Okay thanks.

David Lawrence: Well and thank you for the calling and thank you for listening too by the way. I appreciate it and have fun at the movies with your wife. That*s the thing they simply take the html code, the code that makes the webpage look the way it does. They take that code and they simply highjack it, they grab it and they copy it and they paste it into their own page and it looks real. All they do is change where the links go. Say and it*s amazing, how much trouble you can get into.
