Next: David Lawrence's Personal Netcast - 6/11/2005 >>

My name is David Lawrence. The name of the show is Online Tonight. Here*s our toll free telephone number. We have an open line if you want to jump in to get on the air, 180039 Online. You can ask questions, make comments about technology, the Internet, your computer, your Macintosh, your PC, Windows XP, all the various flavors of Windows, questions about Machintosh, OS X, the various flavors of that, software on both platforms. You have question about Office, questions about Spotlight in Tiger. You want to know how to use your E-mail better, wonder what it*s like to have a Podcast, trying to get started on you know hearing Podcast or creating Podcast, I love talking about that. I can talk about that all day long especially last week after Steve Jobs said the next versions of iTunes. And I am wondering as I heard Adam Curry*s Daily Source Code and he was really excited about the fact Steve Jobs used his Podcast as an example which was great. He is far and away the most famous Podcaster in the world and I would have used his as an example. The thing is, he is all excited about iTunes having Podcasting, Podcatching capabilities, the ability to receive Podcasts built in. But I am wondering why he doesn*t think this won't obviate for iTunes and iPod users any sort of aggregator, iPodder, the Lemon, jPodder, Doppler these software for people who use iTunes won't be necessary because you will be able to subscribe right in iTunes. And he kind of hasn*t addressed that yet, kind of glossed right over it. Well anyway we are going to discuss this during the Podcast tonight after the show. So if you haven't subscribed to the Podcast please go and do so. Click on the link on www.onlinetonight.com and choose the Podcast link there and sign up for it. It*s free, it*s easy to put together. We give you the software that you need to get it, if you don*t have it already. And you don*t need an iPod to hear Podcasts. You don*t even need any other external player you know portable mp3 player. You can listen to Podcast right on your computer. They are just mp3 files. The difference with Podcast and other web audio is that when you subscribe to it as soon as I put up a new episode, the next time your software that*s listening for those new episodes goes out and tests the waters to see if there is a new one. It grabs it and brings it right down. It*s all automatic. And if you do have an iPod or some other you know portable device like a Nomad or an iRiver iFP, it automatically puts it on that device. So when you are headed out the door you can listen to stuff on the fly. It*s like TiVo on your computer for audio. It*s amazing. So if you haven't signed up for it go check it out over at the podcast link at www.onlinetonight.com. Speaking of Podcast and before we get to the phones and again the phone number is 180039 Online, 18003966546.
