Robert: Yeah.

David Lawrence: And your machine will become your new best friend, alright.

Robert: Oh yeah.

David Lawrence: I appreciate the call, thank you very much Robert. Mike you are Online Tonight with David Lawrence, hello sir.

Mike: Hey David. I have got a question for you about iPods. I have a couple of computers where I store my music files but only have one iPod. And I have a little bit of trouble making to play with that sort of, have some songs from each computer.

David Lawrence: Well you can*t.

Mike: Can*t do it.

David Lawrence: No. You can*t number one you can*t sync an iPod to more than one machine. If you try to sync an iPod to one machine it will put all the music from the iPod music corpus on the iPod. Then if you go to another machine it says oh you want this music corpus on there. Okay let*s get rid of what*s on there already and let*s put the new stuff on it but you can*t put it on from more than one. Now you can sync more than one iPod to one machine. Then how many your iPods syncing to the one machine but you can*t sync an iPod to more than one machine including a laptop and a desktop including a Mac and a PC, two Macs, two PCs it doesn*t matter you can*t do it to more than one machine, which means you cannot do a playlist that includes cuts from more than one machine. Now what you can*t do is you can sync your purchases from the iTunes music store and sync the non purchased music the legally ripped mp3s I am sure you are not downloading from any of the peer-to-peer services audio.

Mike: No I haven*t.

David Lawrence: Good, so all that stuff can be synced physically between two machines and two iTunes corpuses up to I think it*s up to three machines that you can legally license for the music that you purchase from the store. So there it doesn*t matter because no matter what machine you are on you go to that machine and it syncs everything up on your iPod and then all of them have the same cut so you can make a playlist that works.

Mike: I see, okay.
