David Lawrence: I would rebuild or compact my E-mail inbox and I would also check to make sure I don*t have a whole bunch of E-mail sitting in the trash that hasn*t been empty because in fact I just found it out this on my Treo650. I thought and this is so stupid for somebody who has been using technology as along as I have. I thought when I said delete the E-mail that it actually deleted the E-mail and then one time I dropped down the Folder Menu and I saw Inbox and Draft and Trash and the Trash had 23,000 pieces of email in it. So I am like wow that*s why its so slow, you know I never even thought I hadn*t gone to the preferences I just started getting my mail just started using my little Treo650 and didn*t think much about it and getting my mail everyday for the last month or so that*s how much email I get and you know it was just slow as molasses. So they usually have an option for compacting or resetting your --
Robert: They said a thing that tells me how much of my available space I have used and it*s very little.
David Lawrence: Right But that*s not the point. The point is there is a database of E-mail and that database has an index associated with it and that index is sort of like the roadmap to the database and as the database grows and contracts it doesn*t get rid of in many cases the old references to E-mail that you may have deleted when you reset or rebuild your Inbox it does that, it just says okay you have got 12 pieces that*s it okay let*s start from scratch let*s keep these 12 pieces and let*s get rid of all the rest of this junk that you don*t need anymore. So that*s, that*s one thing I may try also I may try calling them and say hey is it just slow is your service just slow because that*s a server side thing that*s not your machine. That*s them it*s not you. So you might call them and say*
Robert: That*s* what struck me as all about that*s whole deal is I do mediums that are high in photography and machine does okay pretty big files.
David Lawrence: But I would, especially because what you are telling me now I would definitely get much more RAM on that machine. It probably won*t speed up your Web mail but you will be amazed at how it would speedup your photography.
Robert: Yeah.
David Lawrence: Oh it will be great especially when you work some stuff in Photoshop because right now if you are using, okay if you are using a Adobe element same thing. It*s swapping in and out I mean your operating system has to run elements has to run and your file which can be gigabytes in size depending upon the Pixel depth and the size of the image has to be worked on andthey have to swap the data in and out with that limited space. If you put a gig of RAM on that it won*t cost you more than 100 bucks or so.

After a 30 year career on radio in markets from New York to San Francisco to satellite and network, David H. Lawrence XVII decided to make a change. He hung up his headphones and retired from hosting 3 network/satellite radio shows to head to Los Angeles, to concentrate solely on acting in front of the camera.
Lili VonSchtupp* needed a fresh start. She moved to Washington DC and got her dream job. "I did affiliate relations for Online Tonight with David Lawrence. I slowly worked my way into the producer's chair by impressing David with my assets. (not those assets), my ability to make a CAT5 cable Ethernet cable, type (those of you in the chat room-shut up!) and work a phone system.
