Dan: Right.

David Lawrence: So all I have to do is just sort of you know drop the volume of the music until it I get right to one the vocals the singer starts and I sound like I really smart and I can talk at any vocals there is. While here is a couple of things first of all you can't set an index point yet with soundtrack or with GarageBand you can't set an index point inside a track and use it to move it around based on the endpoint of another track. And on top of that you also don*t have the same ballistics that you have with ProTools that*s why I am sticking with ProTools, you don*t have the same ballistics on the faders. On Pro Tools when you pull the fader down when you are mixing something on the fly and you let it go, you know like if you ducked the music under vocal and you let it go, it returns fairly quickly like on a spring back up to nominal, back up to zero, full volume. Well on soundtrack if you pull the fader down it stays there forever so I need that I can't be without that and so, so far and I actually had a chance to talk to the Apple folks at the NAB Conference about that. That these are 2 things that should either be a preference setting in the case of the ballistics or the fader or absolutely the setting of an index point, but so many use that as a reference when they are doing musical production, why would you not have that in there, it*s easy to do.

Dan: Right, yeah the GarageBand things, that there are things in there but they are evident, there is nothing like that. I have got a copy of Logic Express coming, which is like the next step up to which is a*

David Lawrence: Right, these are all part of the Logic family just re branded for Apple, you know.

Dan: Right, and ProTools is something, I have to save up a little bit for to get the whole and to get a package at this point.

David Lawrence: So why do you say that? How much do you think ProTools would cost you?

Dan: It*s going to cost me about 400 bucks that*

David Lawrence: Okay, alright so you know that it*s that an expensive because I have had people who called and said well thousands of dollars, it*s $1000 at least you know.

Dan: Mbox is 400 *

David Lawrence: The retail on it is $999 but if you can't find an Mbox at Sweetwater, or at Musician*s Friend, or on Amazon for in the $400 to $500 range, you are not really trying very hard.
