Jane: No, pictures but I do have a link to my personal website but it is geocities website.

David Lawrence: Right but that immediately makes it HTML because if you have any sort of HTML code in it than it sends it as HTML as a mine type HTML. If you just simply remove that*

Jane: It goes*

David Lawrence: It goes through. Okay so that*s the deal so here*s what*s going on AOL and CompuServe they can't win. They simply can't win; no matter what they do they can't win, if they are not aggressive in spam filtering then user scream that they are not aggressive in spam filtering. If they are aggressive in spam filtering users scream that they can*t receive E-mail from their friends because it*s being rejected. I have a pretty common web address you know I am not a spammer I don*t have anything to do with that sort of thing. And occasionally I cannot send e-mail to myself and I have white listed david@onlinetonight.com on my Lawrence@aol.com e-mail address on America Online I have white listed it. I have told AOL under no circumstances are you to do anything but let that piece of e-mail come through just look the other way if you think the skirt is too short. Just look the other way let it go through and still it comes back to me with a cryptic HMI 553 error visit webmaster.aol.com for details and I will call you up and all of a sudden it works. You know because when you go to that particular site it says you are on a list call up and tell us who you are and what*s going on and blah, blah, blah. And this is me to me you know I have to and I am the voice of America Online and their tech support line. So like I know everybody there, well not everybody but I know a lot of people there. And it still happens so here*s the problem. AOL so has tens of millions of subscribers and they are the biggest target for spammers so something happened two weeks ago where AOL made a change to their very complicated algorithm about how spam is scored how things are rejected and part of that is tripping the scoring table just a little bit more by adding the HTML thing to it. Now what kind of e-mails are you sending out what do they say in the e-mails.

Jane: Jokes.

David Lawrence: Okay.

Jane: Thing you know things that I type in it doesn*t seem to matter.

David Lawrence: Right now I understand that sometimes those things are the ones that are most often rejected because they contain forwarded items; they contain URL*s that have been identified as spam sources and so on.
