Blubber
By: Judy Blume
List Price: $5.99
Amazon Price: $1.69

Product Description
Blubber is a good name for her, the note from Wendy says about Linda. Jill crumples it up and leaves it on the corner of her desk. She doesn't want to think about Linda or her dumb report on the whale just now. Jill wants to think about Halloween.

But Robby grabs the note, and before Linda stops talking it has gone halfway around the room.

That's where it all starts. There's something about Linda that makes a lot of kids in her fifth-grade class want to see how far they can go -- but nobody, least of all Jill, expects the fun to end where it does.

Twilight: How To Impress The Secret Cool Girl
Well. Where to begin? I have to first be forthcoming in saying that I did not read any of these books by Stefenie Meyers. And now, I have to add the disclaimer that I did sort of read the first book up until the part where Bella tells Edward that she?s figured out that he?s undead. And then I stopped. Oh, it was good, don?t get me wrong: The Intelligent, Slightly Geeky, and Unknowingly Attractive Everygirl (Just like me! And probably like you!) meets the Hunky Teen Guy Monster. He loves her, • Publishing doom and gloom
Here in the USA?s publishing capital, NYC, there are many signs of a publishing downturn: reports and rumours that books sales are down and that the big chains are ordering less books. A few of the big publishing houses are laying off staff, cutting expenses, not acquiring books, and various agents are seeing a slow-down in their sales, especially for debut novels. Of all the genres children?s (which includes YA) seems to be the least affected. Sales have slowed but not nearly as drastically a • Children?s Literature Blog Posts of the Day - December 1

Interview with Judy Blume December 1st, 2008 I enjoyed Kelly's interview with the great Judy Blume over at Big A little a. My favorite part? I find writing for any audience hard! Really hard, especially during the first draft. I dread first drafts. Second and third drafts are easier. After that it's usually fun. Doesn't matter what age group I'm writing for ? it's equally difficult for me. It's nice to know I am in very good company.
