Jerry: Good evening, I am a long time listener. I just had a situation where I lost my sound and I went, I was sent to a restore, system restore and I did that. I installed the drivers in that and now my 3 in 1 HP is running slow. So somebody told me that I should have to reinstall--
David Lawrence: I hate that.
Jerry: The software for HP 3 and well is that true?
David Lawrence: Sure.
Jerry: Now do I uninstall it or just go ahead and restore, put the CD and reinstall?
David Lawrence: Well usually when you are dealing with printer software it*s a good idea to uninstall it and then reinstall it. I had somebody who sent me an E-mail earlier saying, said my printer isn*t working anymore and I said well here go into your printer descriptions and just add a new printer. You are not really adding a new physical printer. You are just adding a new probably non bastardized printer description file. Right and that way it will start all over again. Now you can try it but usually what happens is if you have software that*s damaged especially driver software that*s damaged and it doesn*t overwrite it properly then you can make things worse. So the best thing to do is to uninstall you might even go to the HP site and see if they have any sort of knowledge based articles on how to manually uninstall the individual components of the drivers in the 3 in 1 software and then install from scratch.
Jerry: Sounds great to me.
David Lawrence: And I appreciate. Yes what, what?
Jerry: The bad part of it is grandson turned it-- down.
David Lawrence: No really the bad part about this is that your cell phone is hooking up that*s the bad part because I don*t know what your grandson did but it sounded horrible. 19 before the hour my name is David Lawrence thanks so much for tuning in. We will get to some instant messages and some e-mails in just a moment. Let me go to Patrick. Hey I have got an open line if you want to jump on the air all of a sudden. Patrick you are Online Tonight with David Lawrence. Hello.
Patrick: Okay nice to speak with you. I was just curious. I use a Chat program called PalTalk and I know there is one coming out or they are in the process of coming out called NSpeaker. Now these two programs seem to be the nicest chat programs out there so far.
David Lawrence: Why do you like them?
Patrick: Well I like them because they are little bit more controlled. You can create a room. You can manager that room. You can keep people from creating chaos in the chat room.
David Lawrence: Okay.
Patrick: Whereas Yahoo is just pure chaos. My question to you is are there any other programs besides the two I just mentioned that are coming out in the near future that might be equivalent or better or?

After a 30 year career on radio in markets from New York to San Francisco to satellite and network, David H. Lawrence XVII decided to make a change. He hung up his headphones and retired from hosting 3 network/satellite radio shows to head to Los Angeles, to concentrate solely on acting in front of the camera.
Lili VonSchtupp* needed a fresh start. She moved to Washington DC and got her dream job. "I did affiliate relations for Online Tonight with David Lawrence. I slowly worked my way into the producer's chair by impressing David with my assets. (not those assets), my ability to make a CAT5 cable Ethernet cable, type (those of you in the chat room-shut up!) and work a phone system.
