David Lawrence: Thank you so much for tuning into my radio program, it*s called Online Tonight on the weekends anyway, weeknights Monday through Friday into a show called The David Lawrence Show and I also do a syndicated countdown show called the Net Music Countdown. But this is the show where I get to talk about technology and how we use it and how it abuses us, how we? We sometimes abuse technology, how it can get us into trouble and how we can stay out of trouble. We were talking before the hour about how to purchase a laptop for a freshman that is just going to college and boy freshman are right at the age where they are realizing just how little their parents know and how much they do know and it*s hard to talk to some freshman anyway. And apparently Megan*s parents told her the same thing I said on the air, the school is providing them with exactly what they need and the discount is tremendous and it*s got a better one you know that but sometimes you know our eye gets turned by a piece of software or hardware and we go, maybe that would be better, I mean that gateway would better. I mean that commercial is pretty cool where the guys playing the drums on the back of the chair and his wife keeps catching and when he is supposed to be doing the bills, maybe that makes it a good computer, I have said that*s a Dell computer. But the fact of the matter is that it*s hard sometimes to get the point across, believe me, it*s not just inbound freshman. I get calls from people who sort of want to talk at me about how much they know and how much they have already done and how little I am being to able to help them, but just in case they are just going to keep talking at me. So it*s very interesting to do this radio show because people have some very interesting attitudes about technology and it*s very interesting attitude about how to solve problems with technology or about technology and it*s a weekly exercise and being patient and being accommodating, I think. But I do want to do that, I want to make sure that people know what they are doing and know how they are doing and one of the ways, we do that is with our Podcast. We actually give you a little dose from me everyday Monday through Saturday, sometimes Sundays if I am doing something out and about. And I get this really nice piece of E-mail from Thomas D. May who said David ever since I heard your promo on the Inside Mac Radio Podcast a few weeks ago, I have listened to your Podcast and I founded to be one of the most informative, listenable, and fun choices on my iTunes Podcast subscription list. In my view, you have the quintessential radio voice, when I heard your promo on Inside Mac Radio, I had this sense of instant recognition like I knew that voice from somewhere. Last night as I was listening to your July 7th Podcast, I am a bit behind, yeah that was like 3 weeks ago you got 20 years or so Podcast to go. I finally realized where I thought I had heard your voice before, the CD game *You Don*t Know Jack*, that*s one of my favorite games by the way I love *You Don*t Know Jack.* Not long after that a thought popped into my head, well I was listening to a subsequent show, when you suddenly said that you are going to Chicago to meet with the folks at Jellyvision, the maker of *You Don*t Know Jack* maybe this was simply a coincidence but I am curious whether there is a connection. I looked at the credits in my *You Don*t Know Jack II* CD booklet but I couldn*t fine your name what*s the scoop.

David Lawrence is heard nightly as the wacky, eclectic and highly opinionated host of The David Lawrence Show, and weekend Online Tonight, network radio talk shows that revolves around pop culture and the high-tech lifestyle. The award-winning shows combine entertainment, information, interviews and news with the speed and humor of a Top-40 morning show.
Lili VonSchtupp* needed a fresh start. She moved to Washington DC and got her dream job. "I did affiliate relations for Online Tonight with David Lawrence. I slowly worked my way into the producer's chair by impressing David with my assets. (not those assets), my ability to make a CAT5 cable Ethernet cable, type (those of you in the chat room-shut up!) and work a phone system.
