David Lawrence: Alright now you might want to save yourself a whole bunch of time and effort and take it to a CompUSA and say could you please back up this drive for me onto another drive and they will do the job for you meanwhile you can mosey around the mall and have yourself a Orange Julius, you know what I mean. Alright I appreciate the call. 180039 online, 18003966546 let*s go to Bryan. Bryan you are online tonight with David Lawrence, hello sir.
Bryan: Hi David. I have a computer that has, Symantec has identified that I have downloaded Trojan virus and also a bunch of Adware and they give you some online recommendations about going and editing the registry.
David Lawrence: Yeah I would avoid listening to an antivirus software talking to you about how to do work on your machine that it can*t do itself.
Bryan: Okay.
David Lawrence: And I will tell you why. Because you can damage things especially with the registry you can damage things. Now if you are confident and you know what you are doing and you can use a Reg Editor and you know what's going on then by all means follow the instructions but do not deviate one iota.
Bryan: Yeah I really don*t want to do that and the reason I was calling you is, is there some software or something I can expeditiously get just taken care of?
David Lawrence: No because no matter what you are---
Bryan: --that thing to do without having to go in the registry?
David Lawrence: Well I would do it. I would just go over the instructions, they are very clear. It is basically editing a file. It is editing a file like you would edit a word document or you would edit a text file.
Bryan: Right.
David Lawrence: It is doing just that. But you just have to be precise about it. You have to be absolutely precise about it. The best thing to do is to walk through it without doing the actual edit to make sure that you going to the right place because it will say things like hKey applications blah-blah-blah and it will take you down through what is a hierarchical menu to get to the registry entry. Right and then you know and just follow it specifically as to what its doing and Reg Edit is you want to do. Open up a run prompt on your machine and just type Reg Edit and that will bring up the Registry Editor and it will show you all the things in the registry. Just be careful don*t mess around with anything else.
Bryan: Okay so this is the only way you can get rid of these things?
David Lawrence: Well there*s the other way you can get rid of whatever it's describing. I mean here*s the problem with Spyware and Adware is they are so sophisticated about hooking themselves into you as though they were barbed wire. They hook you in from the applications level, from the registry level, from opening up a port and making sure that the code is all intact and if it isn*t downloading new code. I mean it's just insane and it's like removing a leech. If you only remove part of it or a tick, if you remove part of it the head is still sitting there sucking blood. You know it's just, it's insane. It's just insane, good luck.
Bryan: Thank you.
David Lawrence: Alright back in a moment. My name is David Lawrence.

After a 30 year career on radio in markets from New York to San Francisco to satellite and network, David H. Lawrence XVII decided to make a change. He hung up his headphones and retired from hosting 3 network/satellite radio shows to head to Los Angeles, to concentrate solely on acting in front of the camera.
Lili VonSchtupp* needed a fresh start. She moved to Washington DC and got her dream job. "I did affiliate relations for Online Tonight with David Lawrence. I slowly worked my way into the producer's chair by impressing David with my assets. (not those assets), my ability to make a CAT5 cable Ethernet cable, type (those of you in the chat room-shut up!) and work a phone system.
