David Lawrence: You know my publishers Larry who I talk about in the GoToMyPC spots, he listens to the show all the time. And apparently it's a Saturday night Larry is a lonely man I guess his wife is out of town or whatever and he is passing the time by listening to our show. And doing what a lot of people do when they instant message me and that is to just sort of do little comments along the way. And when I mentioned last hour how much I love Chipotle, he wrote me to say I love Chipotle too I knew this about Larry already I knew he love Chipotle we talked about this before. And then he said Chipotle is owned by McDonalds. I did not know that. Chipotle a nice Chicago Company, interesting. I do love Chipotle. 7 minutes past the hour my name is David Lawrence the name of the show is Online Tonight just for a moment there zoned out and I was thinking about burrito. Anyway what are we talking about oh yeah computers and technology and what have you also if you have questions about your Macintosh your PC, E-mail and instant message good for very short sweet questions like and I have some that I am going to get real quick before we get back to the phones. Sending me a huge involved explanation about how you are going to upgrade a Power Mac to work with OS X OE. I can*t do anything for you. First of all you are not going to upgrade a Power Mac to be compatible with OS X. All the time all the effort all the money is going to be for not because without the Apple chip and Apple hardware being recognized by the software by the software itself ain*t going to happen not going to work. Go to any upgrade page and you will see how many companies have jumped out of the upgrade business because Apple is hardcore about not allowing OS X on any machine other than an Apple product. So all that E-mail that you send me Chris with all that information about how you are going to update your machine you are wasting your time. And it's worth calling in and talking about because there are a lot of people out there who would like to save money but man that*s not the way to save, and the way to save money is to get a Mac mini. 500 bucks and you are done. You would spend that much on upgrades and RAM and hard drive you know it's the same. Alright, so let*s get to some instant messages here from Book in it in 2002 I am assuming greetings, oh greetings to you. I would like to get a Mac Laptop which Mac Laptop would you recommend that can surf the web well and use multiple applications simultaneously. I am a librarian who does a lot of web surfing. Any one will work any one. iBook, Power Book doesn*t matter get one that you can afford and if you have to drop one model back and get more RAM and a larger hard drive. But what you have described there is like there is not a machine that you can buy they won*t do what you have described. Just get more RAM get a gig of RAM fill up the RAM on that machine and get a larger hard drive if those 2 upgrades cost you little bit more money then maybe you take a little slower model or little smaller model. But RAM and hard drive space any Apple Laptop whether it be an iBook or a Power Book will work just fine. Garry In The Big Truck instant messages and says Windows is boring me. I don*t get forced to upgrade messenger and I have zero problems with that I can*t even get it to crash. Oh the tangled webs we have huberous, Garry Huberous be careful. Another instant message from Ted in Oakland listening on KNEW in Oakland your loyal listener here David ten years now, is that right. Yeah we have been on the air for a long time. Well this is our 12th year actually. And it's coming up wow it's actually coming up next week. Next week will be our 12th anniversary. We were on the air on February 29th, 1993 and we have been on the air continuously ever since. So yeah wow I didn*t even think about that interesting. 180039 online, 1-800-396-6546, E-mail real quick from Kenneth Moser Big Thanks is the subject line. Few weeks ago I sent you an E-mail relative to a shutdown problem with my Dell computer and Windows 98. With your help and direction and I was able to get the problem solved by calling Microsoft support.

After a 30 year career on radio in markets from New York to San Francisco to satellite and network, David H. Lawrence XVII decided to make a change. He hung up his headphones and retired from hosting 3 network/satellite radio shows to head to Los Angeles, to concentrate solely on acting in front of the camera.
Lili VonSchtupp* needed a fresh start. She moved to Washington DC and got her dream job. "I did affiliate relations for Online Tonight with David Lawrence. I slowly worked my way into the producer's chair by impressing David with my assets. (not those assets), my ability to make a CAT5 cable Ethernet cable, type (those of you in the chat room-shut up!) and work a phone system.
