Emery: And I also said another rule if you have in exchange for the privilege you being able go online and chat whenever you want and we are paying the dose for it I need to know your password and for your E-mail and for your online account. And if you ever change your password you have to promise me you are going to tell me that because every once in a while I am going to get down there and will check just to make sure that you are not carrying on naive conversation in all good sake with the Kripos and because you are 12 years old.
David Lawrence: Yup I think that*s a great approach and tell you this I understanding wanting to be your child*s best friend and to say I want to give you your privacy is saying I want to be your friend.
Emery: Yes.
David Lawrence: But just one jerk*s opinion I don*t believe that a child that doesn*t have the responsibility level yet and most kids 12 and under don*t. My daughter is 12 years old as well. I don*t believe they developed a sense, they don*t have the world experience to be able to use the Internet to use their computers, to use chatting, instant messaging, chat rooms, E-mail and so on they have no idea what*s waiting for them out there until they hear the horror stories or unfortunately suffer themselves. And so my take on this is privacy is something that is earned through experience and when you are in my house and you are using my computers you don*t have any expectation of privacy so don*t think you do. You can use them as a tool you can use them for your school work you can use them to chat with your friends but you can*t use them for illegal purposes and you can*t use them in a way that could potentially put you in harms way. And that*s it, and if you don*t like it I understand that but it*s for your own protection and there is a lot of things like that between her and I and we just get through it. So I appreciate the call and I thank you for that tip-in. Thank you Emery goodnight.
Take a break we will comeback we got an open line at 180039 online.
David Lawrence: The theme of all the Bookmark This is for the show have been about parental responsibility and throughout the course of the show you don*t know what it*s like to sit here and take URLs and take instant messages from people. A lot of which are kids that are listening to the show they wonder why I am so concerned about piracy about file sharing and music piracy, downloading music, downloading films and so on. After a 30 year career on radio in markets from New York to San Francisco to satellite and network, David H. Lawrence XVII decided to make a change. He hung up his headphones and retired from hosting 3 network/satellite radio shows to head to Los Angeles, to concentrate solely on acting in front of the camera.
Lili VonSchtupp* needed a fresh start. She moved to Washington DC and got her dream job. "I did affiliate relations for Online Tonight with David Lawrence. I slowly worked my way into the producer's chair by impressing David with my assets. (not those assets), my ability to make a CAT5 cable Ethernet cable, type (those of you in the chat room-shut up!) and work a phone system.
