Jennifer: That*s what I figured.
David Lawrence: Did you by any chance upgrade from Retrospect Express to Retrospect?
Jennifer: I might have 6.0. I the higher, I don*t have Express.
David Lawrence: Okay so you are using the same disk that came with Retrospect 6.0?
Jennifer: Yes we always download it but yes.
David Lawrence: Okay, well see, here is why okay, so you are saying you are trying to, how are you starting up the machine to backup to ----?
Jennifer: Well it*s a brand new machine so.
David Lawrence: Yeah but you can*t, you can*t restore completely to a machine that you are booting from the hard drive. So you have to boot from a CD, the emergency CD that comes with your Retrospect. Once you do that then you will be able to see all those snapshots on the other machine.
Jennifer: Got it.
David Lawrence: And you also want to make sure that you are going in the direction. You are putting the old snapshots on the new Macintosh. It will be Macintosh HD unless you have changed ----.
Jennifer: My Retrospect was downloaded. I just need to make a file, disk for that.
David Lawrence: You need to make a disk for that and you can do that. Here*s how you can do that. Just install Retrospect on the Loner Machine, make the disk and then go back and use you know the restore function from that.
Jennifer: Okay.
David Lawrence: Alright?
Jennifer: Fine thanks.
David Lawrence: Thank you.
Jennifer: Bye, bye.

After a 30 year career on radio in markets from New York to San Francisco to satellite and network, David H. Lawrence XVII decided to make a change. He hung up his headphones and retired from hosting 3 network/satellite radio shows to head to Los Angeles, to concentrate solely on acting in front of the camera.
Lili VonSchtupp* needed a fresh start. She moved to Washington DC and got her dream job. "I did affiliate relations for Online Tonight with David Lawrence. I slowly worked my way into the producer's chair by impressing David with my assets. (not those assets), my ability to make a CAT5 cable Ethernet cable, type (those of you in the chat room-shut up!) and work a phone system.
