David Lawrence: Sure now let me backup a second. I think that in general your strategy is a recipe for disaster not because you are backing up to CD-Rs or CD-RWs but because you are not performing complete backups of your hard drive. You are deciding maybe a well informed decision but you are deciding what files are important to backup and which ones are not, right. You are not backing everything up to the CD-Rs because --.
James: Well it*s. I*m sorry.
David Lawrence: That*s alright. Go ahead.
James: You know I am just, I am not trying to either do a whole process and restore and then like that -----
David Lawrence: Right but you should be. My point here is you should be and this will actually tie into the answer that I*m going to give you. I suggest that you abandon the CD-Rs and CD-RWs #1 because again it takes up so much time. And that you get yourself does your, is this a laptop or a desktop?
James: It*s a ThinkPad.
David Lawrence: ThinkPad okay.
James: IBM ThinkPad.
David Lawrence: Does it have a USB 2 or a Firewire connector on it?
James: Yes it does.
David Lawrence: Okay so what I would suggest you do is get yourself a Maxtor OneTouch 300 Gig hard drive for 300 bucks. That*s how much they cost right now. On that hard drive we were just talking with Jen earlier about her Retrospect software. Retrospect is built in and how big is the hard drive on your laptop?
James: I will be guessing. I am not a computer genius. I will be guessing.
David Lawrence: Like 80 gigs, 60 gigs, 40 gigs do you know.
James: I don*t know. I just bought a new one and I maxed it out what all they had, this catalogue or whatever.

After a 30 year career on radio in markets from New York to San Francisco to satellite and network, David H. Lawrence XVII decided to make a change. He hung up his headphones and retired from hosting 3 network/satellite radio shows to head to Los Angeles, to concentrate solely on acting in front of the camera.
Lili VonSchtupp* needed a fresh start. She moved to Washington DC and got her dream job. "I did affiliate relations for Online Tonight with David Lawrence. I slowly worked my way into the producer's chair by impressing David with my assets. (not those assets), my ability to make a CAT5 cable Ethernet cable, type (those of you in the chat room-shut up!) and work a phone system.
