David Lawrence: Hey you are Online Tonight with David Lawrence how can help you sir?
Jim: I have question. I have a Windows machine with XP on it and it keeps popping up to warn you that I have upgrades. I am assuming that it is probably for a Service Pack 2. I just want to know is it safe to if I am trying to do that I know there is a lot of problems when it first came out.
David Lawrence: The answer is an absolutely probably. The best thing to do is to look at the myriad checklists that are available to you on the Internet before you upgrade to Windows XP Service Pack 2 David Pogue who writes for the New York Times had one of the best ones because he sort of put it out there and then readers would comment on it and he would check it out with people that were in the norm and he sort of crafted it over the few first few weeks of September of last year. And if you can Google that article from his Circuit*s column in the New York Times it is a terrific way of making sure that you don*t make a misstep when you upgrade from a Windows XP to Service Pack 2 on that particular platform. And I couldn*t possible tell you unless I was sitting down in front of your machine and looking at all the different things that you do. Most people don*t have an issue that*s one thing it was very clear but the ones that do have an issue got very vocal about it and so it appeared that there were more problems than there actually were. The best thing to do if you don*t want to go looking for the checklists is to make sure you do a complete backup of your machine. Then do the upgrade and if it doesn*t work you can always reload the old back up and I mean a complete backup, a ghosting or using a product like Retrospect that will actually restore the hard drive to the state that it was. Alright
Jim: Okay. It sounds good.
David Lawrence: I appreciate the call, thank you very much. 180039 online is our telephone number 18003966546 that*s the number to call if you want to talk to me to get on the air. We appreciate it very much and if you want to drop me an instant message on AOL or AIM the screen name Lawrence.

Lili VonSchtupp* needed a fresh start. She moved to Washington DC and got her dream job. "I did affiliate relations for Online Tonight with David Lawrence. I slowly worked my way into the producer's chair by impressing David with my assets. (not those assets), my ability to make a CAT5 cable Ethernet cable, type (those of you in the chat room-shut up!) and work a phone system.
