Jim: Yes I would like to point out that whenever you use a Blocker or any other program that depends on graphics you have completely locked up your ability of blind computer users who use screen readers with text to communicate with you at all.
David Lawrence: Okay now you know that that*s no longer the case.
Jim: No I don*t.
David Lawrence: Yeah if you go to Earthlink or if you go to I think the other one is called SpamBlock I can*t remember the name of that, I am not even in a mood right now to go and investigate other options. I am just trying to get my E-mail back in order but both of those Pudd uses it from eft company and I have got to figure out which one he uses. Both of them say if you can*t see this click here which means that the sight-impaired person using JAWS or home screen reader or home page reader or screen reader will hear that as, it*s just plain text.
Jim: Oh fantastic, will it work under Linux.
David Lawrence: I don*t know that they have options for Linux. But the moment that you make demands on both the sight-impaired community and the main operating systems community you realize your choices get brought down almost to nil and the best place to go is to SourceForge. Because if there is an open source project on it, we will know about it so if we go to SourceForge.net they will be able to tell you whether or not there is a screen reader capable of handling that. And most of these are web based. So it really doesn*t matter whether you are using a Linux Box or Macintosh or a PC because you are interfacing through a browser, so whether you are on a Linux Box or not, it doesn*t really matter. So I would say that in essence the Earthlink is certainly Linux compatible this product that Pudd uses and Lilli if you could figure out which one Pudd used to send them E-mail and see what happens. Both of those I know the major ones are easily accessible because what happens is you are asked to listen to the numbers or letters as they are called out and then type them in.
Jim: I didn*t know that pretty much.
David Lawrence: But I do understand the sensitivity to the blind community because often--
Jim: If it is to the blind community I would assume they would want to communicate with everyone.

After a 30 year career on radio in markets from New York to San Francisco to satellite and network, David H. Lawrence XVII decided to make a change. He hung up his headphones and retired from hosting 3 network/satellite radio shows to head to Los Angeles, to concentrate solely on acting in front of the camera.
Lili VonSchtupp* needed a fresh start. She moved to Washington DC and got her dream job. "I did affiliate relations for Online Tonight with David Lawrence. I slowly worked my way into the producer's chair by impressing David with my assets. (not those assets), my ability to make a CAT5 cable Ethernet cable, type (those of you in the chat room-shut up!) and work a phone system.
