David Lawrence: Is there some sort of branding or badging that goes onto products that are certified by the Alliance?
Frank Hanzlik: Absolutely, we tell people when you are looking for Wi-Fi products you are going out to Fry*s, to Best Buy, to CompUSA look for products that have the Wi-Fi certified logo on that.
David Lawrence: Now what is that looks like?
Frank Hanzlik: Basically it looks like it says Wi-Fi Certified and then there is series of indicators there that will tell you that those products will work together with other manufacturers.
David Lawrence: And obviously Wi-Fi has only been around for a few years, so it*s not like the underwriters laboratory logo that everybody recognizes. But it will be soon, it seems very few people are buying wired devices anymore, everybody is looking to Wi-Fi and Wireless Capabilities.
Frank Hanzlik: Absolutely we see people basically have embraced broadband and now they want to have it without all the hassles that go with wire, so that*s why we walk around the show here and we see Wi-Fi everywhere. We see very, very cool audio, video, applications all being able to be streamed wireless in your home, which gives you great flexibility in life.
David Lawrence: Right, now Wi-Fi itself is not depended on TCP/IP, isn*t that right?
Frank Hanzlik: Correct.
David Lawrence: Wi-Fi it*s a separate layer actually*
Frank Hanzlik: Right, it*s basically Wireless Ethernets, so basically something that is very very well known on the wired side will be that needed to have wireless several years ago.
David Lawrence: So if you want to do QoS or if you want to any sort of alternative to the current, you know standard of TCP/IP you can, over a wireless connection?
Frank Hanzlik: Yeah, absolutely.
David Lawrence: Which means if you are streaming films, if you are streaming audio, you can have that quality of service that you would necessarily have, if you have a lot of traffic going on in your network.

After a 30 year career on radio in markets from New York to San Francisco to satellite and network, David H. Lawrence XVII decided to make a change. He hung up his headphones and retired from hosting 3 network/satellite radio shows to head to Los Angeles, to concentrate solely on acting in front of the camera.
Lili VonSchtupp* needed a fresh start. She moved to Washington DC and got her dream job. "I did affiliate relations for Online Tonight with David Lawrence. I slowly worked my way into the producer's chair by impressing David with my assets. (not those assets), my ability to make a CAT5 cable Ethernet cable, type (those of you in the chat room-shut up!) and work a phone system.
